Just in case you didn't already know, 2024 is the Year of Shadow. The often-ignored Sonic character is finally getting the spotlight as he prepares to be introduced to the series' movies in December, and becomes a part of Sonic x Shadow Generations in the fall. So much more Shadow stuff has already happened this year with more still to come, starting with a first look at a real-life Dark Rider being showcased at the MotoGP Red Bull Grand Prix of the Americas in Austin, Texas this weekend.

Funko Pops are all well and good, but sometimes, every now and again, you really just want someone to turn your favorite video game characters into collectible rubber ducks. If you don't, then you really should, and you will after you learn about Tubbz. Tubbz are duck versions of video game characters from throughout history, and Like A Dragon's Goro Majima is one of the latest characters to receive the Tubbz treatment.

Pokemon Concierge was released on Netflix earlier this month, which was a delightful breath of fresh air for the series, and depicted a more calm and zen-like experience in the Pokemon universe. It was a smash hit for Netflix, and one that prompted fans of the series to start asking two questions. One, when are we getting more seasons, and two, when will Game Freak smell the roses and turn this concept into an actual video game?

If a boss is proving too difficult, push them off a cliff. It's the best way to avoid a tough fight in Baldur's Gate 3, especially since you can distract them with dialogue and switch to another character. Elden Ring is full of notorious boss fights, but none of them hold a candle to Malenia, Blade of Miquella. She's considered the toughest boss in the game by a wide margin, mostly down to her quick attacks and Waterfowl Dance technique that can seem completely unavoidable if you'e not properly prepared for it. She feels very much like a more fast-paced Sekiro boss fight plopped in the middle of Elden Ring, which does make you wonder how the Wolf would stack up against her.

Starfield modders are having their fun with Bethesda’s space role-playing game, making some weird and wonderful concoctions as well as some really useful, quality-of-life improvements. Now, modders are turning their attention to Star Wars.

Cursed ship designs were always an inevitability with Starfield, and after two full days in the wild, players have already made some wildly funky and plainly cool ships. Scrolling through social media channels, you’ll find that players have hammered away at their own unique designs while also creatively remaking other iconic vessels from Mass Effect, Star Wars, Halo and, of course, our friend Thomas The Tank Engine. There’s also been a shocking lack of, uhm, male organ-shaped spacecraft which makes putting this post together much less hard. But for now, onward! Let’s admire some cool ships.

A small French developer called Blue Rose Team has been prepping Twin Peaks: Into the Night for a while now, and it just dropped a demo of the fan-made game.

Space is mostly dark and empty, yet it is marked by the most stunning colors and that is what Artechouse Studio is exhibiting in its latest show. But these visual spectacles are not randomly placed, they tell a story — the story of our universe. And this theme is being explored by Artechouse, an institution that combines art and technology to create immersive and experiential exhibitions. It is running a show called Beyond The Light that explores the artistic expression of “unseen depths of our universe”. Artechouse has collaborated with NASA for this exhibition and uses the data collected from its space telescopes such as the James Webb Space Telescope to create the show. It also used AI-aided visual production to bring that data to life.

Name a more iconic duo than The Walking Dead and choice-based video games. AMC and publisher GameMill Entertainment know there’s no better answer to that prompt, so they’re teaming up for a new choose-your-own-adventure-style action game based on The Walking Dead TV series that sounds intriguing.

Two new Baldur's Gate 3 mods have turned the game into a third-person RPG. 

Ever since the release of Chromecast back in 2013, Google has been using the Google Cast protocol to power all the devices and the ones that are similar to it. Google Cast or Chromecast simply turns your source device into a remote that lets you mirror content without actually needing an entire display. However, it isn't possible to cast content from an Android device to another Android phone, tablet, or Windows device. Or at least it wasn't possible, but now thanks to CastReceiver, you can do just that, and it is one of the most convenient things that I have gotten my hands on.

People across the world are waking up to a new development on X (formerly Twitter) as many users have begun reporting that they are getting a paywall when trying to access TweetDeck, the dashboard application for managing multiple accounts of the microblogging site. The paywall is essentially a pop-up window that asks users to buy X Premium (previously Twitter Blue) subscriptions in order to be able to use the service. With TweetDeck being one of the most useful tools for businesses to regulate their posting cycles and engage with their followers, this new move is going to add a new business cost.

You can talk to territorial squirrels, throw your shoes at an annoying child, and do just about anything your D&D-loving heart desires in Baldur’s Gate 3, Larian’s new RPG game. All of this, from picking your Baldur’s Gate 3 classes to diving into the story, will be scored by a narrator, and we now know what it would sound like if they just went off kilter for the Baldur’s Gate 3 release date, and it’s as brilliant as you’d expect.

This year's Final Fantasy 14 Fan Fest took place in Las Vegas yesterday, in which director Naoki Yoshida (also known as Yoshi-P) took to the stage to announce the game's next big expansion. However, the trailer for Dawntrail wasn't the only big talking point after the show. Shortly after the trailer went live, Yoshi-P revealed that the expansion will bring with it two new DPS jobs, one melee and one ranged magical.

Final Fantasy 14 isn't a typical game to watch people speedrun—while certain parts of the game do have a speedrunning history, and there is a dedicated community running the game, completing it in record time still typically takes hours. These cutscene-skipping blitzes are impressive, sure, but they don't exactly make for great viewing unless you're really into the nuts and bolts of the game.

Team Fortress 2 is one of the elder statespeople of PC FPS games. Since 2007, it has been the benchmark for fun, quick, varied, and highly memeable online multiplayer, complementing Half-Life and CSGO as one of Valve’s best shooters. But now that’s all been turned upside down. The latest Valve update for Team Fortress 2 suddenly means that, rather than the standard 32, TF2 games will now support up to 100 players. The developer itself says that this is “unsupported and not recommended.” But if you want to experience Team Fortress 2 as a chaotic, crowded, and often comical battle royale game, now’s your chance.

On Tuesday, Reddit wrapped up the 2023 edition of r/Place — the internet canvas where Redditors can place a pixel every five minutes, collaboratively creating art. But the internet collage had a different vibe this year, defined by the way some Redditors used the canvas to protest Reddit CEO Steve Huffman.

Now, Pyle has teamed up with Community creator / Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon to turn the strip into an animated TV series, and the first trailer has arrived.

Kevin Mitnick, one of the most famous computer hackers in the world and the subject of an over two-year manhunt in the 1990s, died of complications from pancreatic cancer last Sunday, aged 59. His death has been confirmed to the New York Times.
