TesseracT turn their upcoming War Of Being album into a video game – now in Early Access

UK-based prog-metal band TesseracT are embarking on a new music video game experience, releasing War Of Being into Steam Early Access.
Adapted from concepts and themes of the upcoming album, the game brings players into The Strangeland to explore six stylised environments, featuring characters behind the album, soling puzzles to unlock tracks from the album and offering a very different and more engaging listening experience.
War Of Being is playable in a dedicated SteamVR mode, as well as with a separate desktop mode.
The game has been made with TesseracT’s lead singer Daniel Tompkins also the lead director and designer on the game. “Gaming has inspired so many of my musical projects and albums. It’s a dream come true to be able to produce a computer game based upon my own music and it’s such an exciting opportunity to help spearhead a new crossover medium for music and gaming consumption – I can’t wait to see where it leads us.”
Alongside Tompkins are Kirsty Harvey, Creative Designer and 3D Artist, and Adam Boyt, Developer in a small three-person team.
While now available in Early Access, and at a pretty appealing £4.99 price point, they plan to bring War Of Being to crowd funding on Kickstarter, laying out how the game will expand with more levels, lore and narrative as it heads to a 1.0 release.
