The remake is still in the works at Saber Interactive, according to a new report. The PlayStation 5 console exclusive remake of BioWare's 2003 RPG title was announced as part of the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase under the development of Aspyr Media, the developer behind many ports — including the original on Nintendo Switch and the upcoming — before Aspyr's parent company, Saber Interactive, took over development in 2022.

Amid all the debates around the canon status of since the release of the TV series, there's one particular faction ending that makes a lot more sense. The TV series is the latest in the timeline, which means it inevitably incorporates details from all the games. These can be both major and minor, ranging from people and places referenced on posters seen briefly in the background of one shot, to entire recurring factions who play a major role in the story.

Establishing your own Tortuga for an army of pirates sounds like a recipe for a municipal planning nightmare, but Republic of Pirates makes the job look like a sea-breeze. Republic of Pirates was revealed during the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted today with a trailer showcasing seafaring city-building, management, and ship combat. While there’s a long pedigree of pirates in the history of PC gaming, this reveal is more like Anno 1800 than contemporary swashbuckling like Sea of Thieves or classics like Sid Meier’s Pirates.
