Square Enix has debuted the latest job coming to Final Fantasy 14.

A new Guinness World Record was set during a recent Yu-Gi-Oh card game tournament in Tokyo, Japan. While the original Yu-Gi-Oh manga wasn’t always centered around the Duel Monsters card game, it has become one of the most recognizable elements of the franchise. Konami started producing a physical Yu-Gi-Oh card game back in 1999, with Upper Deck bringing it to the US in 2002. Since then, Yu-Gi-Oh has become one of the highest-selling card games in the world, spawning several video games in the process.

Pokemon Sleep and the Hyatt Hotel Corporation have partnered to create a Pokemon Sleep-themed room for fans to stay in. The entire room, in addition to the hotel's menu, have been customized as a way of celebrating the first anniversary of the Pokemon Sleep app.

Square Enix has formally unveiled a moogle-themed board game based off of characters from the acclaimed PS2 title Final Fantasy 12. This certainly isn't thebombastic Final Fantasy 12 remake announcement some fans may have been hoping for. However, it's at least a nice reminder that Square Enix hasn't entirely forgotten about the world of Ivalice and the games that take place within it.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will launch in early 2025, SNK announced. Platforms were not announced. It will also be playable at EVO Japan 2024, which will run from April 27 to 29 at Ariake GYM-EX in Tokyo, Japan.

Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact is a 2D fighting game and will be available for PlayStation 5, Switch, and PC via Steam when it launches, publisher Bushiroad Games and developer Eighting announced.

Nintendo has announced that it will stream full pre-recorded concerts for The Legend of Zelda series and its Splatoon franchise next month. Both concerts were set to be a part of Nintendo Live events in December of last year and this month, too, in Tokyo, Japan, but these events were canceled over safety concerns, as reported by VideoGamesChronicle. Now, everyone will be able to watch these concerts when they hit the official Nintendo YouTube channel next month.

Nintendo's upcoming live event that was planned for early 2024 in Tokyo, Japan has been canceled by the developer. A press release translated by Japanese game news translator Genki reveals the cancellation was brought on in part by threats made against both Nintendo staff and attendees.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is prepping to release this week, and before that, we've received global launch timings for the same. Ubisoft tweeted an infographic listing different timezones that point toward a staggered release — meaning the game unlocks at different times across the world. On console, the ninth-century Baghdad-set title goes live at midnight local time on October 5, which means the more impatient players can try changing their system's location to New Zealand to try and get in early. So far, the release schedule is straightforward, with preloading already live across PC, Xbox, and PlayStation. However, the PC unlock is a tad confusing, with some regions getting a headstart by as much as a day.

At a special showcase for members of the press at Bandai Namco Entertainment in Tokyo, Japan, I had a chance to play an early build of Tekken 8. While renowned director Katsuhiro Harada’s latest sequel will launch with 32 characters, only 16 were available during this meeting. The roster included a blend of old and new faces, including long-established stars like Paul Phoenix and Jin Kazama alongside more recent creations like Claudio Serafino and Lars Alexandersson. However, series producer Michael Murray stated that all Tekken 8 models have been redesigned from scratch, befitting the transition from the Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5.

Free-to-play battle royale game My Hero Ultra Rumble will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam on September 28, publisher Bandai Namco and developer Byking announced. Eijiro Kirishima, Momo Yaoyorozu, and Ibara Shiozaki were also confirmed as playable characters.

While next month may belong to titles like Starfield and Mortal Kombat 1, CD Projekt RED’s Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is also heavily anticipated. It received a new trailer and extensive gameplay at Gamescom 2023, and in the company’s first half 2023 earnings conference, CD Projekt revealed it was “very happy” about current pre-orders.
