PlayStation held it's second State of Play showcase for 2023 earlier this week, giving us a closer look at some of the titles we can expect to see on PlayStation consoles over the next year. We got a first look at Resident Evil 4's Separate Ways DLC, alongside a very close release date, as well as some new footage from Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The biggest reveal was a new gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which showcased some more combat as well as first looks at Cait Sith and Vincent Valentine.
However, despite all of the cool-looking animations and new playable characters, one particular scene from the trailer drew a lot of attention from fans, and it had nothing to do with Sephiroth's luxurious silver locks. Part way through the trailer, we see Cloud and the gang exploring the sunny beaches of Costa del Sol, but you'd be wrong to assume they'd be doing so on foot. Instead, the gang is outfitted with what look like Segways, and fans immediately started poking fun at Cloud's little drive along the coast.

Lots of people have made all sorts of comments to about Cloud's rather strange appearance in this scene, but the most common one seems to be that the Segway plus his new outfit kind of makes him look unemployed. Like, we've definitely see pensioners in this exact getup going down a pier on a Segway without a care in the world. If that's the look that Cloud is going for, then he's nailed it.
In fact, his outfit looks to be one of the main talking points, as he does appear to be wearing a T-shirt over another T-shirt despite driving down the coast of Costa del Sol. He's also managed to clock almost 1,000 meters of distance according to the in-game counter, so he definitely has to be sweating.
Then there's just the fact that this mercenary, who we know is very powerful and incredibly reserved, just looks strange riding a Segway. A lot of fans have taken the opportunity to take Cloud and his Segway and plop him in other scenes in Final Fantasy 7 in which his little vehicle is possibly one of the most inappropriate things to be driving at that point.
In any case, it's need to see a more human side of Cloud, even if he gets mercilessly bullied for showing it off. You're an absolute dork Cloud, but we definitely don't want that to change any time soon.
