Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth – Vincent Valentine is Not Playable, Will Accompany the Party

Square Enix’sFinal Fantasy 7 Rebirth has had many details revealed over the past week or so, from the reveal of Junon and The Grasslands to the sheer amount of content in the upcoming RPG. The developer also clarified that Vincent Valentine, who appeared in the State of Play trailer, would not be playable.

Final Fantasy 7 series creative director Tetsuya Nomura has confirmed that Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth won't be getting any DLC.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has received new gameplay and details thanks to various hands-on impressions over the past few days. However, the development team hosted a stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2023 to show off even more, from The Grasslands and its mini-games to more combat. Square Enix showcased over 30 minutes of gameplay footage and a new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth focused on mini-games playable in the Grasslands during its Tokyo Game Show 2023 stage event.

The highly-anticipated second part of the Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, has received 19 minutes of TGS 2023 gameplay.

Fan favorite Final Fantasy VII character, Vincent Valentine, got a bit of spotlight in the launch date reveal trailer for Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll get the chance to control the hockey-haired ex-Turk. Square-Enix has stated in a Q&A posted by Game Informer that, while Vincent will join the party, he will be relegated to the sidelines.

Square Enix has confirmed that Vincent Valentine won't be playable in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and will instead fight alongside the party like Red XIII did in Final Fantasy 7 Remake.

trailers have already shown off a significant number of locations returning from the original game. As the sequel to, roughly aligns with the second half of 's Disc One, which is where the game's map opens up significantly. While the first half kept the party confined within the massive city of Midgar, the second grants them access to the open-world map for the very first time. While some parts of it are still saved for Discs Two and Three, or at least until the party finds a way around some difficult terrain, this transition represents a significant broadening of the game's scope.

PlayStation held it's second State of Play showcase for 2023 earlier this week, giving us a closer look at some of the titles we can expect to see on PlayStation consoles over the next year. We got a first look at Resident Evil 4's Separate Ways DLC, alongside a very close release date, as well as some new footage from Marvel's Spider-Man 2. The biggest reveal was a new gameplay trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which showcased some more combat as well as first looks at Cait Sith and Vincent Valentine.

Square Enix has confirmed that summons will return in FF7 Rebirth, allowing players to unleash monsters upon their enemies. It’s unclear whether the summons from FF7 Remake will be returning, but we know for sure that some familiar faces from FF7 will be appearing in the game, as well as at least one brand-new summon.
