Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth DLC is Currently Not Planned

Following a barrage of news and announcements last month, Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has looked very good. From new Synergy Attacks in combat to extensive side content with over 100 hours of gameplay promised, there’s a lot for fans to dive into, including new playable characters like Red XIII, Cait Sith and even Sephiroth (albeit briefly).

Square Enix has taken to social media platform X to explain the artwork featured on the cover for the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Created by creative director of the game Tetsuya Nomura, the artwork is meant to represent three distinct worlds that Cloud Strife, Sephiroth, and Zack Fair find themselves in.

Nintendo’s next-gen console has been in the leaks a great deal recently. Allegedly set to be capable of outputting visuals that’ll be comparable to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S thanks to its implementation of DLSS, recent leaks have claimed that the Switch 2 will be seeing simultaneous releases for a lot of major multiplatform games. However, if you were hoping that the console would also get a port of Final Fantasy 7 Remake – as some have speculated – it seems that won’t be the case.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth offers quite a lot for fans of the original and Final Fantasy 7 Remake. It has 100 hours of gameplay, with the side content double that of the main quest. It has tons of mini-games, from the Gold Saucer to The Grasslands. You can also play as Sephiroth (though terms and conditions apply).

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the middle chapter of the ambitious Final Fantasy VII Remake project, arrives in just a few short months, and Square Enix has provided more info about the game’s world. We know FF7 Rebirth will feature a much larger, more open world than FF7 Remake and Square Enix has detailed some of the regions you’ll be exploring, including the Grasslands, Junon, and the Gold Saucer.

Square Enix’s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth has received new gameplay and details thanks to various hands-on impressions over the past few days. However, the development team hosted a stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2023 to show off even more, from The Grasslands and its mini-games to more combat. If there’s one that recent weeks have taught us about Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Square Enix’s second part in the remake trilogy, it’s the sheer size of its world. Final Fantasy 7 Remake was a bit more confined due to its chapter-wise setup and Midgar setting, but Rebirth goes much bigger and employs a seamless map.
