Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty patch 2.01 is out now and improves performance on all platforms

I don't think I'm spoiling too much off the jump by saying that Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty's endings are emotionally charged and more than a little bit devastating. It is also a natural gamer behavior to goof around in such moments, but as reported by VG247, CD Projekt Red seems to have anticipated players attempting to bork one such scene, inserting hidden dialogue to reflect their apparent death drive. Spoilers for Phantom Liberty ahead.

Following a notoriously bumpy launch in 2020, CD Projekt Red successfully redeemed and revived Cyberpunk 2077 with several updates and the excellent Phantom Liberty expansion. But the Polish developer supposedly took a “significant” morale hit from the game’s troublesome development and is looking to do things differently with future release, including The Witcher 4.

Like many of CD Projekt RED's games, 's DLC contains a great number of excellently concealed Easter eggs, hidden details, and subtle pop-culture references. Although some of 's secrets are easily discovered, others are incredibly hard to uncover — this, however, is part of the fun. While simple awareness of a reference is rewarding, having to spend a great deal of time and effort in locating an Easter egg amplifies the reward.

CD Projekt Red used AI to replace the voice actor Miłogost Reczek in Cyberpunk 2077 following his passing in 2021. 

As reported by Bloomberg, it's been revealed that CD Projekt used AI to replicate the voice of the late Miłogost Reczek, who voiced Night City's most reliable ripper doc, Viktor Vektor, in the base game's Polish localisation back in 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is being heralded as the game that we deserved back in 2020, finally completing CD Projekt Red's vision of Night City. Unlocking the Agaou Throwing Axe in ’s DLC is a great idea, as the new weapon added can do some impressive damage to opponents. The throwable machete is part of, a paid expansion for CD Projekt Red’s popular RPG. The Agaou is considered an iconic piece of gear and one of the coolest new weapons in . What makes it so special is that it can be thrown at enemies for massive damage but, in addition to that, it also discharges an AoE shock effect onto them.

Aside from the main storyline of 's spy thriller DLC, the expansion also has several new gigs that V can choose to take on along the way. Gigs are entirely optional but often can provide some good rewards and experience, in addition to providing some colorful backstory and lore for the game. They can often be triggered by entering an area or through story advancement, and are frequently started with a phone call, but they do not need to be completed immediately, so V can circle back when ready.

Phantom Liberty and Update 2.0 might have made a lot of improvements to Cyberpunk 2077 but one new bug has introduced a haunted police car to Night City.

Early in the DLC's main story for, V is faced with a difficult choice without a lot of time to make a well-thought-out decision. As is often the case with much of the game, there are many decisions that have to be handled which can affect other things down the line, and particularly when trying to roleplay it can be hard to know what the right choice is. Dogtown residents Jacob and Taylor may talk tough, but whether they deserve the maximum punishment for their actions is ultimately up to the player to decide.
