Assassin’s Creed Mirage Receives A New Trailer During Gamescom ONL

The folks over at Ubisoft are gearing up to release Assassin’s Creed Mirage. We know the game is coming out in the following month. However, we’re just now learning that Assassin’s Creed Mirage was initially supposed to be DLC. With Ubisoft Bordeaux working on the title, their initial pitch was to see a DLC release for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla that would take players back to the Middle East. However, that pitch only lasted a few weeks before things shifted in a far bigger way.

Geoffcom 2023 has crested its initial crescendous wave with Gamescom Opening Night Live. The yearly gaming show has delivered its usual tantalising (and sometimes baffling) smorgasbord of videogame announcements, trailers, updates, news, and more. And now we’ve got a much better idea of what games to expect over the course of the next, oh, seven hundred years.

Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty has received a new trailer as part of the Gamescom opening ceremonies showing off new elements of CD Projekt RED's dystopian future. 

In an all-new trailer revealed today at Gamescom, Ubisoft gave us our first look—or, more accurately, our first listen—at the «full Arabic voiceover» that will be available in all editions of the upcoming Assassin's Creed Mirage.

Cyberpunk 2077 might have stumbled quite badly out the gate, but the developers at CD Projekt Red had continued to work on the game. Now it’s gearing up to launch the big expansion called Phantom Liberty. Unfortunately, we know that this is the one and only expansion that is planned for Cyberpunk 2077. So if you can overlook the fact that this will be it for the new RPG from CD Projekt Red, then you can mark down your calendars. With that said, if you haven’t been keeping too close of tabs on this expansion, we can offer some insight. 

Sonic the Hedgehog fans have a new game to keep track of. Sonic Superstars has already been unveiled, and it’s taking fans back to the classic age of the franchise. Here we are getting a traditional side-scrolling Sonic game that you might be familiar with from the earlier Sega Genesis days. We know that this game is centered around a new chain of islands that Doctor Robotnik has taken control of. Just as before, Sonic must venture through the islands and collect the Chaos Emeralds. 

During today’s Gamescom ONL we got our first look of a campaign level footage. Meanwhile, the presentation also highlighted open combat missions where the objectives can be tackled how players see fit. 

As we all know, mythology is one of the best media inspiration sources. The idea of gods ruling on high and how they’ve interacted with mortals has created many stories over the generations. We’ve seen tales of the Greek Gods, Norse Gods, and various other pantheons. But a title that might be intriguing to many of you is Black Myth Wukong. The tale will retell and reimagine the legendary story featuring the Monkey King, Sun Wukong. But as we’ve seen from previous trailers, it’ll have a very gritty and detailed visual style, arguably making it more intriguing.

Less than two months left to go until Assassin's Creed Mirage launches on October 5, and as promised, more of the game was shown at Gamescom. A brand new trailer for Mirage premiered during the show, all of which was in Arabic with English subtitles as lead character Basim detailed his mission and more of what Mirage is all about. Ubisoft has confirmed players will have the option to play the entire game that way to make the experience feel more authentic.

As promised, Ubisoft shared a new trailer for Assassin’s Creed Mirage, a return to the classic stealth gameplay of old-school titles developed by Ubisoft Bordeaux. It sees Basim, the protagonist, venturing through Baghdad in the ninth century, taking down various targets en route to assassinating the Order of the Ancients’ members.

Bethesda fans can’t wait to get their hands on their next major game release. Starfield is arriving this September and during the Gamescom ONL event we got another look into the game. This included a live-action trailer and even an appearance from Todd Howard.
