Armored Core 6 players stunned to discover the game hides some of its best moments behind New Game+ and even NG++

Remedy Entertainment’s Alan Wake 2 has received some new gameplay, courtesy of IGN First, with the titular protagonist traversing The Dark Place. As a replica of New York City, it’s where characters tied to his books will appear. While looking for a light to open an entrance into the subway, Wake runs into none other than director Sam Lake.

A leaked court document has revealed a roadmap of planned Bethesda games from 2020, including numerous titles that have yet to be confirmed.

During the New Game+ mode of Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon there are several exclusive missions that will appear throughout your repeat playthroughs. The first one found in Chapter 3 is called Mission 18-B: Prevent Corporate Salvage of New Tech which comes in the form of a Decision Mission. While the corporation attempts to gather some new technology from the Central Ice Field, the Rubicon Liberation Front will reach out to destroy PCA mechs to ensure that they can’t be reverse-engineered for the benefit of either Balam or Arquebus. It's perhaps difficult to grasp — especially for younger fans — how vibrant the legacy of Spider-Man, the world's favourite web-crawler, is in video games. Yesterday (Tuesday, September 12), it was announced that the game engine Unity will soon begin charging developers a monthly fee based on the number of installs their games have, in a move that has left many indie studios upset and frustrated.

Armored Core 6 is a FromSoftware game first and foremost, meaning it asks its players to grind out victories against some truly powerful opponents. Those that have powered through the game's first few hours will know that there are a whole bunch of skill checks that will more than likely have caused some to put down the game for good. If you're one of those people, you may want to give Armored Core 6 another shot, as the game's latest patch has nerfed some of its most notorious boss fights.

Fans of the franchise have highly anticipated Alan Wake 2. It’s a game that’s been in the works for Remedy Entertainment for quite a few years, too. However, the video game has finally been approved, and the developers are now finally getting ready to reach the finish line. With that said, we know the game will be arriving next month, and while we wait for the game to reach the marketplace, there is a new video drop from IGN highlighting an early mission for Alan Wake 2.

The Last of Us 2‘s game director Neil Druckmann hints that the studio is working on a new game. He couldn’t confirm whether it was The Last of Us 3, though that seems likely. However, it’s also possible that Naughty Dog has something else in the works.

This was inevitable. FromSoftware's fanbase is flooded with talented people—something about the studio's habit of making textured, detailed worlds and iconic characters has set fire to artist's imaginations time and time again. Even the lore videos have professionally-rendered animatics now.

As the school holidays wind to a close, and those heady weeks of FIFA games and lengthy RPG sessions fade into memory, my household has had one last gaming hurrah. I’ve been making my way through all of the things I saw at Gamescom, and carried on with some of them when I got home. Wayfinder has become the daily MMO hit, and I’ve been playing with my son in his first true stint of online gaming. Alongside that I’m still playing Baldur’s Gate 3, and I’m probably going to finish up just as the PS5 version appears. It’s safe to say it’s very, very good, and if you haven’t been able to play yet, you should be excited.

Starfield is now available to those who pre-ordered the Premium Edition, and it's being received fairly well — even more so on the performance front, which is unusual for developer Bethesda, whose titles have historically debuted with inconsistent framerates on consoles. As per Digital Foundry's breakdown, the much-anticipated space sci-fi RPG runs at a solid 30fps on both the Xbox Series S and Series X, exactly as the studio advertised. At a glance, there doesn't seem to be a concerning amount of disparity in visual fidelity between the two versions, though the higher-end Series X does appear to have more geometric detail.
