You can already save $20 on Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Throughout the Series X|S era, Xbox has made a habit of giving away one-of-a-kind consoles to celebrate the release, arrival, or success of certain games and movies. It gave away a Palworld Series S with four unique controllers earlier this year, and a Series X designed to look like it's made of chocolate to mark Wonka's arrival in cinemas. Its latest offering may well be its best to date. A Final Fantasy 14 console to commemorate the MMO finally arriving on Xbox.

With the launch of Final Fantasy 14 on Xbox Series X/S just days away, Microsoft and Square Enix revealed a custom Xbox Series X console and controller as part of a giveaway. One lucky winner will receive a new Xbox hardware bundle, the Final Fantasy 14 Complete Collector's Edition, and a year-long Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership.

Shortly before launch, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi confused many fans of the series by explaining that the development team made two versions of each side quest all because of Red XIII. We didn't know why at the time, as we weren't aware of the voice change that Red XIII goes through a little ways into the game itself, first hinted at in Under Junon and then again in Costa del Sol.

Interested players can already start farming Arlecchino’s materials in if a new Version 4.6 leak is to be believed. The Fatui Harbinger known as the Knave is a long-awaited character that first debuted as an NPC in the Fontaine storyline. Arlecchino’s presence in the game has long been teased and, even before the release of the Nation of Hydro, there were a few alleged leaks about. Now, however, Arlecchino’s release in has been officially confirmed by HoYoverse and it is set for Version 4.6, the next major patch in the live-service RPG.

In the days that followed after the launch of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, some of the staff at Square Enix talked about the challenges that went into creating a massive project that could live up to players' expectations. Despite Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth releasing nearly four years after Final Fantasy 7 Remake, the developers expressed the concerns they had about putting it together.

Helldivers 2 came out of nowhere and took the world by storm, and that continues to be reflected in sales. It was the UK’s best-selling game in February, and it’s been seeing consistent growth in sales in the US as well. On top of that, the game also managed to top the PlayStation Plus charts for top downloads for the month of February. In both North America and Europe, Arrowhead Game Studios’ co-op third-person shooter was No. 1.

Square Enix has released the launch trailer for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which is out worldwide right now. But you don’t necessarily need to watch it – you’re good. After all, you’ve made it this close to launch without spoiling yourself, right?

Despite only just getting the eagerly-anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth out the door, Square Enix is already hard at work on the conclusion of the Remake trilogy. Remember, the original “remake” title was set entirely within Midgar, with the team at Avalanche only getting out of the city after a clash with Sephiroth. However, while the Square Enix team did make the world vast, they ensured that there was still plenty to explore within the next entry, which will finish the story.
