Throughout the Series X|S era, Xbox has made a habit of giving away one-of-a-kind consoles to celebrate the release, arrival, or success of certain games and movies. It gave away a Palworld Series S with four unique controllers earlier this year, and a Series X designed to look like it's made of chocolate to mark Wonka's arrival in cinemas. Its latest offering may well be its best to date. A Final Fantasy 14 console to commemorate the MMO finally arriving on Xbox.
The console is a shade of blue so stunning that in the promotional image below, it almost looks like it's glowing. Around the base of the console are matching blue crystals, and the whole thing is on a shiny gold pedestal. As if that wasn't indulgent enough, the Series X also has two gold rings around it, one at the top and one closer to the base, each with symbols etched on them and more crystals jutting out of them.
If you want to be in with a chance of owning the only Final Fantasy 14 Series X in existence, you will need to enter Xbox's sweepstake. To enter the competition, you will need to be following Xbox and Final Fantasy 14's official accounts. You will also need to retweet the post below. The only caveat is you must live in the US or Canada to be eligible. That means even though more than 30,000 people have shared the post already, your odds might be better than you think since some of those retweets will have come from outside the US and Canada.
You have until 11:59 pm PT on March 28, 2024, to enter the sweepstake. If you retweet the post after that, you won't be included in the pool from which Xbox will select a winner. The winner will be selected at random the following day. If you win, not only will you get a one-of-a-kind Final Fantasy 14 Series X, but also a matching controller money can't buy and a 12-month subscription to Game Pass. The Starter Edition of Final Fantasy 14 will be available on Game Pass from March 21, 2024.
The terms and conditions note that even though this Series X won't be available to buy, its estimated worth is more than $1,300, likely making it the most expensive Series X to date on top of being one of a kind. Even though this one will never be mass-produced and sold, there's a chance a version of it will be released in the future. Xbox once gave away a SpongeBob Xbox in the same way, and now a slightly different SpongeBob design can be bought through Best Buy.
