Over nine years since it launched for PS4, PC, Xbox 360 and Xbox One, Ivory Tower’s The Crew is being delisted. It’s no longer available to purchase on Steam and the PlayStation Store (though some regions and the Xbox Store still have it). This move affects the base game, its various editions and DLC.

Rumours about Roblox shutting down come and go, and we at RadioTimes.com have to do our due diligence to get to the bottom of them – so is Roblox shutting down in 2024?

Update, 12/12/23:

Hours after announcing that highly anticipated zombie survival game The Day Before was a financial failure and that developer Fntastic was shutting down, the controversial game has been pulled from sale on Steam. The Day Before launched last Thursday, just four days ago, on Valve’s storefront. Fntastic has also purged its YouTube channel of all videos of The Day Before, and CEO Eduard Gotovtsev has deleted his X profile.

Fntastic, the studio behind The Day Before, is shutting down. It announced the closure today with a statement that arrives just four days after the The Day Before launched into Early Access on December 7. 

In what I think is the biggest blunder in video game history, The Day Before developers, FNTASTIC, are shutting down. This has been confirmed through an official statement from FNTASTIC themselves, and honestly, I’m shocked but not surprised.

Melbourne-based developer Samurai Punk has announced that it will cease operations after almost ten years of making games. The company's statement, attributed to studio directors Winston Tang and Nicholas McDonnell, does not provide a specific reason for the decision, but it comes amid a wave of studio closures and layoffs in the industry.

It has been a slow death for the 3DS and the Wii U which had their eShops shut down this year. The next step in phasing out these devices will come in April 2024 when Nintendo shuts down online services for software on the platforms.

It’s a sad day for the indie gaming scene, as Boomerang X developer DANG! has announced its imminent closure via a post on Twitter.

Just a year after rolling out Circles, a feature that lets you tweet or post selectively to only a select group of friends or colleagues without letting the whole world see it, X (formerly Twitter) has decided to shut it down. The Circles feature was initially in the test phase from May 2022 with a limited number of users on iOS, Android, and the web having access to it, and was rolled out to the public in August. And now, surprisingly, the Elon Musk-owned platform announced its decision to shut down Circles on Thursday. This latest move is part of the myriad of changes that the platform has gone through in the last few months, ranging from the removal of Twitter Blue and rebranding to X.

UPDATE: Twitter says it will disable Circles on Oct. 31.

Gloria Victis has begun its final season, as developer Black Eye Games has a nnounced they are closing, saying “Creating and maintaining an MMORPG is one of the hardest possible challenges in game development”.

Polish developer Black Eye Games is closing down.

Black Eye Games, the developer of the medieval MMO Gloria Victis, has announced that it will shut down the game and close its doors at the conclusion of the current season. The studio said the shutdown is «mostly due to financial reasons,» but also that the effort of keeping the game running and growing has also left the team exhausted and burned out.

Volition, the studio behind Saints Row, Red Faction, Agents of Mayhem, and more is being shut down. The developer announced the news in a post on its official LinkedIn post, confirming that parent company Embracer Group has “made the difficult decision to close Volition effective immediately” after evalutating the studio’s “strategic and operational goals.”

Mimimi Games, the indie developer behind Desperados and Shadow Tactics, has announced that it will be shutting down. Its most recent game, Shadow Gambit: The Cursed Crew, will continue to be supported, but will be the final game made by the studio.

Creator and media critic Anita Sarkeesian revealed to Polygon that her organization Feminist Frequency is coming to an end. 

Feminist Frequency announced today that it’s shutting down. The nonprofit, founded in 2009 by Executive Director Anita Sarkeesian as an outlet for media criticism of video games and other pop culture, expanded through the years to include podcasts, gaming resources, and an Online Harassment Hotline. Although the organization’s industry resources will remain on its website indefinitely, the hotline will close at the end of September, and the remainder of Feminist Frequency will wind down by the end of 2023.

Bandai Namco Online have announced that Gundam Evolution, the free-to-play shooter based on the popular anime, will no longer be playable after November 29th. The mech FPS was released last year but executive producer Kazuya Maruyama now says it’s “no longer possible” for the team to provide ongoing support.

A little under a year since its debut, Bandai Namco Online's Gundam Evolution has been announced as shutting down.

Free-to-play, Overwatch-esque multiplayer shooter Gundam Evolution will be shutting down just one year after its PS5 and PS4 launch, Bandai Namco has confirmed. The live service title, which sees two teams of iconic Gundam suits blast each other to bits, released on consoles back on the 30th November 2022 — and it'll no longer be playable from the 29th November 2023.

Bandai Namco Online’s Gundam Evolution is ending its service on November 29th at 5 PM PT. It won’t be playable, and EVO Coins will be rendered unusable.
