Black Myth: Wukong has looked increasingly promising with each new showing, and as its launch later this year draws closer, excitement surrounding it continues to grow. Now, developer Game Science has released another new trailer for the Soulslike action RPG at the recent WeGame event, offering another promising glimpse at the game.

Despite announcing the end of development forRedfall, Arkane Austin has confirmed a final update. In a new tweet, the studio revealed that Game Update 4 is in the works and would add single-player pausing and offline mode. Furthermore, it revamps the Neighborhood and Nest systems.

The Warner Bros. crossover brawler will be getting a new PvE Rifts mode when it relaunches later this month. The solo and co-op mode moves away from the PvP modes found in the early access version of the game and is meant to teach new players the mechanics of the game, as well as letting veteran players hone their skills.

While Grand Theft Auto 6 is launching in Fall 2026, Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto 5 is still selling quite well despite its age. Take-Two Interactive’s fourth quarter fiscal year 2024 earnings report revealed that the latter had sold approximately 200 million units in its lifetime, up from 195 million.

Developer Steel City Interactive and publisher Deep Silver have announced that their boxing game, Undisputed, will be leaving early access on PC on October 11. Since launching into Steam Early Access on April 26th, Slavic Magic’s Manor Lords has impressed with its sales. Publisher Hooded Horse recently announced that it had sold over two million units. The real-time strategy city-builder sold over a million copies in its first two days of release.

Developer Phoenix Labs has announced that it is cancelling development on all titles at the studio aside from Dauntless and Fae Farm. The studio took to LinkedIn to make the announcement, where it revealed that it is being reorganised to focus more on its live service titles.

You might remember Enotria: The Last Song as the Italian-inspired Soulslike that shifted its release date from June to August to avoid Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree... but found itself nestled next to Black Myth: Wukong. Well, scratch that August release, as now it's been shifted back to September instead! But hey, there's a demo coming out real soon that'll hopefully give us a better sense of what the game's like. I imagine it'll involve a lot of fighting spindly monsters, dying, and resurrecting at whatever object they've decided will be the equivalent of Dark Souls' bonfires. Likely something Leonardo da Vinci made or drew or invented. That man's stats were specced high.

I've clocked up nearly 400 hours playing BioWare's big fantasy RPG Dragon Age: Inquisition, which is not a stat I'm particularly proud of. I'm not ashamed either, partly because, as has been identified by artist Corey Brickley, via the Maw, there's a lot of filler. Brickley has collated a list of suggested mods to slim down Dragon Age: Inquisition from a potentially 80 hours-long epic to a trim 40 hour story-focused romp, which means you might be able to play through it again in time for the launch of Dragon Age: Dreadwolf - which is a direct sequel to Inquisition.

Hell-wandering roguelike Hades 2 has received its first proper patch, and it does everything the developers said it would. You now sprint faster and, significantly, you can gather more than one type of crafting resource per run (as long you've unlocked the tool that lets you gather that resource). This means Melinoë can now go fishing, dig up seeds, mine silver, and gain the trust of errant shades, all in a single night's work. There is a catch though.

Being offered a 4X game for free is definitely one of those cursed-monkey-paw situations. Sure, you’re saving physical currency, but at what price in terms of that most treasured and least tradeable of commodities, time? In the hours it takes to properly clean out a 4X game, you could probably build an empire yourself. OK, not a huge empire. An empire the size of the Vatican or the Principality of Sealand, perhaps. Maybe an empire that only covers the distance between your desk and your fridge. But an empire nonetheless. Publisher Spike Chunsoft and developer MAGES. will release romance visual novels The Quintessential Quintuplets: Memories of a Quintessential Summer and The Quintessential Quintuplets: Five Memories Spent With You digitally for PlayStation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam on May 23 in the west for $34.99 each, the companies announced. A “Double Pack” containing both games will also be available for $59.99.

SerialProject, a Japanese independent studio formed in 2023 and consisting of just two core members, has announced SerialWorld, a “comedic yet serious RPG” and deckbuilder coming to PC via Steam in 2025. It will support both English and Japanese language options.

Ubisoft’s fast-paced free-to-play arena shooter launches for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on May 21. Fans can preload it now to be ready for when it goes live, though PC users will want to check out the recently revealed system requirements.

Developer Pugstorm’s mining adventure Core Keeper has been going strong in Early Access, and it is en route to releasing in full on August 27, 2024. Developer Arrowhead Game Studios has announced on the official Helldivers 2 Discord channel that it plans on making changes to patrols and spawning rates of enemies in the game, according to IGN. The studio plans on rolling back some of the changes that were originally made to enemy spawns and patrols in a previous update.

In an interview with Kinda Funny Games, Ninja Theory studio head Dom Matthews has revealed that when Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 was first announced back in 2019, the studio didn’t have anything ready for the game except for the trailer.

Ubisoft has provided extensive updates on its upcoming titles for the fiscal year, primarily Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Star Wars Outlaws. In its full-year 2023-24 earnings release, the publisher confirmed that both titles would receive “updates” at Ubisoft Forward on June 10th.

Cozy magical farm life RPG Garden Witch Life will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Switch alongside its previously announced PC (Steam, Epic Games Store) version when it launches in 2024, publisher SOEDESCO and developer FreetimeStudio announced.

Ubisoft Quebec is leading development on Assassin’s Creed Shadows, but as with previous Ubisoft titles, multiple other studios are providing support. As noted on the game’s official website, the open-world action RPG has the likes of Ubisoft Belgrade, Ubisoft Bordeaux, Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Chengdu and more involved.

If the new cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows didn’t provide enough about the open-world action RPG, a new breakdown is available that goes into more detail. Creative director Jonathan Dumont and assistant director of cinematic design Akim Milne talk about the presentation, including the use of split screens in the trailer and the game’s setting.

After the PlayStation Store listing for Assassin’s Creed Shadows indicated online play is “required,” Ubisoft has clarified that an internet connection isn’t mandatory at all times. It also confirmed that players can play the open-world title offline.

Assassin's Creed Shadows, the next instalment in Ubisoft's stealth/action-RPG franchise, will be released November 15 across PC, PS5, Xbox Series S/X and Amazon Luna. Previously known as Assassin's Creed Codename Red, the upcoming title will explore the long-requested setting of Feudal Japan through the eyes of two playable protagonists with distinct playstyles and abilities. Assassin's Creed Shadows was fully revealed by Ubisoft with a near-four-minute-long cinematic trailer on Wednesday, detailing the game's dual protagonists and its Japanese setting.

Buried among the chatter of "profitable growth trajectories" and "B2B partnerships" was a brief note about looter shooter The Division Heartland. "Ubisoft has decided to stop development on The Division Heartland," it reads, "and has redeployed resources to bigger opportunities such as XDefiant and Rainbow Six." Ah, so this is the games industry equivalent of being summarily dumped by text.

Amid all the news and details about Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft revealed that it’s stopped development on The Division Heartland. Its full-year 2023/2024 earnings report stated that resources were “redeployed” for “bigger opportunities” like XDefiant andRainbow Six.

Saints Row might have been the worst-performing game in the franchise. As caught by X user Timur222, a LinkedIn post Tyrin Stevenson—formerly a social media and community manager at developer Volition—states that Saints Row only sold 1.7 million copies.

After a short period in the Steam Beta Branch, Starfield’s latest update is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S. Speaking to IGN, game director Charles Benoit says the team wanted to keep the “core” of Assassin’s Creed, specifically “the hidden blade, the assassination, being able to stay hidden.”

After teasing an upcoming chapter inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, Dead by Daylight has revealed its next killer pulled from the pages of the fantasy pen-and-paper RPG: Vecna, long-running mega-baddie and inspiration for the Stranger Things villain. He’ll be voiced by Critical Role dungeon master Matthew Mercer and haunt a new dungeon map, where you’ll be able to do battle as new elf and bard survivors able to roll a literal d20 when they crack open treasure chests.

The PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC (Steam) versions of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Sweep the Board! will launch on July 16 in North America and Europe, publisher SEGA announced. The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series versions will be available both physically and digitally.

The new cinematic trailer for Assassin’s Creed Shadows has dropped, offering our first look at its protagonists, Naoe and Yasuke. Jyamma Games has delayed Italian Soulslike action RPG Enotria: The Last Song from its previously planned August 21 release date to September 19, as well as announced that the previously canceled Xbox Series version is now planned once again. The game will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store when it launches. An eight-hour demo will launch for PlayStation 5 and PC on May 22.

Soon to be closed Xbox studio Tango Gameworks has confirmed that a physical edition of Hi-Fi Rush is still being worked on.
