Capcom has made a strong mark on the modern open world space with the recently released Dragon’s Dogma 2, but it seems like the company has an even bigger behemoth waiting in the wings. Monster Hunter Wilds is set to launch sometime next year, and as per prominent leaker Dusk Golem, it’s set to be Capcom’s biggest game to date “by far”.
Capcom announced Monster Hunter Wilds in December at The Game Awards, handing the action RPG a 2025 launch window- which, of course, means that it might not quite be time for new details on the game to start emerging just yet. Nonetheless, many had hoped that Capcom would be talking about the next Monster Hunter instalment as part of the series’ upcoming 20th anniversary celebrations- though the company has confirmed that won’t be the case.
During The Game Awards, Capcom released a trailer for the newest generational game in a well-known RPG franchise.
After teasing it earlier this year, Capcom finally announced the next mainline Monster Hunter title – Monster Hunter Wilds. Capcom have unveiled the next entry in their dinosaur hat/pants/jumper-making sim this evening, and it's called Monster Hunter Wilds. A kick in the dino groin to this year's monster hunting pretender Wild Hearts, perhaps? Who can say. Formally unveiled at tonight's Game Awards, this new Monster Hunter is coming in 2025, and looks to be the jazzed-up successor to Monster Hunter: World. That's not a diss on Rise (which was excellent). Just that it's being developed for PC and consoles first, rather than Switch. And it looks rad as heck. Come and watch the reveal trailer below.

It’s been a long night of The Game Awards. Many trailers have been shown for upcoming games, but only one can be the final trailer. Capcom has taken that honor this year by revealing the newest installment in the Monster Hunter series, Monster Hunter Wilds.
The Game Awards has seen plenty of big announcements this year, though few will be as grand as Capcom's reveal of Monster Hunter Wilds, the next big title in the series which is launching at some point in 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X.
Monster Hunter Wilds was the big final premiere at the 2023 Game Awards, with the above trailer confirming a 2025 release date. That's a while off, and it'll also be a while before we get more details about the Monster Hunter World follow-up: series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto said on-stage that Capcom won't show any more until December, 2024.
