When it comes to Dragon Ball FighterZ, the game came out of nowhere and was able to make a big splash with gamers. The team put plenty of effort into making the title shine not just visually but gameplay-wise. Over the course of its life, numerous characters from various sagas within the series were brought in to build quite an impressive roster. Even now, years after its release, the game is still praised and talked about, including by its own team! The official Dragon Ball website talked with producers Hiroki and Hirano to talk about their favorite parts of the title, favorite characters, and more!
Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 is getting yet another major update on the 12th October — and as if that wasn't enough, Bandai Namco has announced that a PS5 version will release in 2024. If you can believe it, it's actually the game's 7th anniversary, and to say support for XenoVerse 2 has been impressive would be a serious understatement.

Sand Land grabbed a hold of my attention unexpectedly after its reveal this summer, and I’ve been waiting for more news on the upcoming RPG since. Developed by ILCA and published by JRPG king Bandai Namco Entertainment, Sand Land is shaping up to be nothing short of exciting. The new game is inspired by Akira Toriyama’s manga of the same name. If you don’t know who Toriyama is, he is the creator of Dragon Ball and pretty much a deity among dedicated manga readers.

Go Mecha Ball is by far the coolest Steam Next Fest demo I’ve played so far, and I can’t recommend it enough. A top-down, twin-stick shooter where you can turn into a giant mecha wrecking ball that bounces around the tight playspaces while shooting at enemies, Go Mecha Ball is a fast-paced roguelike that genuinely had me upset when I got to the end of the demo. It’s a little bit Super Monkey Ball and has the bright bouncy play of something like Rocket League, it’s great.
Action tends to fall between two extremes, tactical and arcade. In tactical action you bide your time waiting for the right moment to make your move, assessing the enemy’s movements for an opening and then exploiting it for all it’s worth, while in arcade games you do the same thing but really fast. Go Mecha Ball falls squarely into the latter camp of game design, with a kitty-mech stomping through battle arenas and shooting down all the rogue glitch-bots in its path. Which is a fairly pedestrian thing for a kitty-mech to do, so it also rolls up into a ball to smash, bounce, crash, and beat on any bot that’s unlucky enough to get in the way.
A recent trademark filed by Bandai Namco might have revealed that Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4's name will actually be Budokai Tenkaichi: Zero, which fans think could mean that it's a reboot of the series.

Teen Goku is finally coming to Dragon Ball Legends and, while that should be an exciting moment, fans can't get over how high-pitched and squeaky his voice is.
As friends, family and long-time RPS readers can probably attest, reverse Alleyway puzzler Holedown became a mild obsession of mine a few years back. Every spare idle moment I had, I'd be bouncing balls down its infinite planetary mining silos, mesmerised by the vacant stare of its iconic white Holedown worm (my record is still 1090m, in case you're wondering). It's a most joyous day, then (as much as it can be on a day like today), to hear that solo developer Grapefrukt will soon be back with another ball-bouncing beaut in the form of Subpar Pool, which is coming to PC (and phones) on October 12th.
EA Sports FC 24 players who have Ada Hegerberg in Ultimate Team mode currently can’t use her because of an unusual bug.
ended its first season years ago and since then fans have been curious about a second season and its possible release date. Dragon Ball Super is an anime that is set during the timeframe of the original Dragon Ball anime series and follows the adventures of Son Goku and his friends in the ten-year time skip after Majin Boo’s defeat.
Baldur's Gate 3 has had its dialogue datamined—by virtue of @roksik-dnd on Tumblr—and the community's been elbow-deep in the muck trying to discover the game's rarest voice clips. While that may seem overkill for a game that's been dissected for weeks already, the recent discovery of an ultra-rare fourth wall break has fans on the scent.
Bandai Namco’s Tekken 8 is one of the major releases to look forward to in 2024, with a closed beta set for October. Before that, the development team revealed several new features (via PlayStation Blog Japan), including the return of Tekken Ball.

A sequel to the 2021 indie game Qomp — a puzzle platformer that asks what would happen if the ball in Atari’s classic table tennis game, Pong, suddenly wished to escape — has been announced.
OK, so unlike Gollum this does seem pretty swish. I am getting pungent whiffs of Labyrinth Zone, and there are some nice single-screen Pac-Man-meets-Celeste puzzle setups in there. It feels like a fleshed-out version of an entry to last year's PongJam, hosted by Digital Extremes technical designer Scott Melanson, which gave us such wonders as Turn-Based Pong and Pong meets the Iranian Revolution. The logical plotline here is surely for the left paddle to return as the final boss.
Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot has been quietly kegging along since it launched back in 2020. We didn't mind it then, and it got better, at least in terms of performance, when it came to PS5. With DLC 5 right around the corner, a new trailer for the The 23rd World Tournament has us nostalgic for the glory days of Dragon Ball.
Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) has unveiled its 2.7 update along with a fresh collaboration featuring Dragon Ball Super. Ever since Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 4 was announced during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour earlier this year, fans have been desperate for even a crumb of information on what the game will look like or a possible release date. Even a new trailer would be enough to satisfy some, though that's looking unlikely now that fans have been let down by Bandai Namco's Anime Expo Summer Showcase. However, it seems like there's hope yet.
CyberConnect2’s latest paid DLC for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, The 23rd World Tournament, is out next week. Announced by Bandai Namco DE on Twitter, it launches on August 17th. It’s the second DLC in Season Pass 2, following Bardock – Alone Against Fate, and set before the Saiyan Saga.

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which arrived at the very start of 2020, is still getting DLC. You know how DBZ games go!
Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is a title that has had surprising legs on it despite not being the most-beloved title in the anime’s gaming line. Many were surprised by the depth that the game had in both its gameplay, fleshing out the story between some of the major arcs of the show and beyond. Then, when the DLC came around, they started bringing in content that hadn’t really been touched in gameplay before. For example, they showcased the story of Goku’s father, Braddock, and how the Saiyan race fell thanks to Freiza. But soon, the fifth DLC will highlight a key moment in Goku’s past.

There have been a lot of hiccups with trying to make the Nintendo Switch Online service a “top-tier program” like Xbox Live or PlayStation Plus. There have been a lot of ups and downs regarding price, content, and so on. But one of the nice things they have instituted is that if you own the service, you can access free trials of popular video games. They’ll give you a week to play them to see if they’re something you’ll want. So what’s the next game to get the trial? That would be Dragon Ball FighterZ, something many of you have likely tried before.

I’ve got a new Naraka Bladepoint hobby, and it’s so much fun that it’s keeping me from actually queuing up for the battle royale game. To celebrate going free-to-play, Naraka Bladepoint has added a stunning new lobby area with the Naraka Bladepoint July update called Fairyland Penglai, filled with activities that you can take part in. One of these in particular, however, has brought me an unreasonable amount of joy.
