OK, so unlike Gollum this does seem pretty swish. I am getting pungent whiffs of Labyrinth Zone, and there are some nice single-screen Pac-Man-meets-Celeste puzzle setups in there. It feels like a fleshed-out version of an entry to last year's PongJam, hosted by Digital Extremes technical designer Scott Melanson, which gave us such wonders as Turn-Based Pong and Pong meets the Iranian Revolution. The logical plotline here is surely for the left paddle to return as the final boss.
It definitely feels more like a thinly rebranded Qomp sequel than a Pong game, however, which speaks to modern-day Atari's rather cynical handling of the Atari license and back catalogue. "The creature wearing the skin of Atari mostly makes stupid junk I don't care about," Alice0 observed in a piece on Atari's acquisition of community-run database MobyGames. "It can trade on other people's glories by spaffing off blockchain rubbish and hotels that won't get built and bad microconsoles and endless re-releases with the logo and rights it bought, and I'll think it's stupid but basically not care (aside from that cryptojunk, which is abhorrent)."
Stuffed Wombat, at least, have said they're "really excited to see how Atari is carrying our work forward". You might also be interested in this Pong homage from Bennett "Getting Over It" Foddy.

Unfortunately, he has to meet her bodyguard, Seraph (Collin Chou) first, who insists that Neo fight him to prove that he is who he says he is. Starfield is shaping up to be a virtual haven for hoarders, cleaning procrastinators, and those who keep a perpetual pile of dirty clothes in one corner of the room. (Don’t worry, we’ve all been there.) Multiple fans have temporarily left the deep void of space to share what the insides of their ships look like, and the results aren’t pretty.
There's a quote from Douglas Adams' sci-fi classic Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy—when describing the presence of the Galactic Hyperspace Planning Council's ships, he wrote: «Motionless they hung, huge, heavy, steady in the sky, a blasphemy against nature. Many people went straight into shock as their minds tried to encompass what they were looking at. The ships hung in the sky in much the same way that bricks don't.»
The Hunger Games movies turned Jennifer Lawrence into a certified A-lister and ended Hollywood’s YA adaptation boom with a grace note to the tune of $3 billion worldwide. But in spite of immediate whispers that Lionsgate would quickly turn to spinoffs or reboots to keep Hunger Games fans well fed, longtime franchise producer Nina Jacobson says that was never really a possibility; if there was going to be another movie, Hunger Games author Suzanne Collins would have to write the novel for one.
Experience points can make all the difference in an RPG like Starfield. But what's the best way to level up quickly? We have a few suggestions as fans gear up for Starfield's big release on Game Pass later this week.
