PlayStation Plus subscribers have one last chance to claim the free PS Plus games for April 2024, even though it's already May 6. New PlayStation Plus free games are rotated in on a monthly basis. The previous PS Plus free games are available until the first Tuesday of the following month, and so Monday, May 6 marks the last day that subscribers can snag the free games that were available in April 2024.
Come Tuesday, May 7, the free PS Plus games for April 2024 will be replaced by the free games for May. The free PS Plus games for May 2024 include four freebies instead of the usual three, giving subscribers some added value. Starting Tuesday, May 7, PS Plus subscribers can claim EA Sports FC 24, Ghostrunner 2, Tunic, and Destiny 2: Lightfall. Between now and then, subscribers have one last chance to grab the April 2024 games.
Today marks the last day that PS Plus subscribers can claim the free PS Plus games for April 2024, and so they should be sure to do so ASAP if they haven't already. As a reminder, the free PS Plus games for April 2024 were headlined by Immortals of Aveum and also included Minecraft Legends and Skul: The Hero Slayer. All three games will make solid additions to anyone's digital library, and unlike the PS Plus Extra and Premium games, the monthly games can be kept forever as long as one stays subscribed to PlayStation Plus.
Out of all the free PS Plus games for April 2024, Skul: The Hero Slayer is the highest-rated, with an impressive 83 overall rating. For those unfamiliar with the game, Skul: The Hero Slayer is a roguelike platformer that was originally released in 2020, with critics giving particular praise to its combat.
The other two free PS Plus games for April 2024, Immortals of Aveum and Minecraft Legends, weren't quite as well-received as Skul. Immortals of Aveum reviews left the unique magic-based first-person shooter with a 72 overall rating, whereas Minecraft Legends has a 70 rating. Both games earned mixed reviews, but being able to play them essentially for free through a PlayStation Plus subscription may leave one with a better experience than if they had paid full-price.
In any case, Immortals of Aveum, Minecraft Legends, and Skul: The Hero Slayer are all available for free until Tuesday, May 7, at which point they will be replaced by the free PS Plus games for May 2024. Time is running out, so PlayStation Plus subscribers should be sure to claim them right now if they haven't already.

Sony recently added a free trial for one of the most controversial games of 2024 to PlayStation Plus Premium, meaning members of the service can give Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League a shot without having to spend a single extra penny. Though some may have preferred a more well-received game to be added instead, trials like these allow PlayStation Plus players to test out divisive games and make judgments for themselves on titles they may not have touched otherwise.
Unfortunately for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers, it seems an additional seven games are leaving the service, bringing the total to a whopping 34 games that are on their way out. PlayStation Plus Extra games are removed on a monthly basis, but 34 is still a lot of games to see go removed all at one time.
