May’s first batch of PlayStation Plus games are now available to claim.
This month’s PlayStation Plus Essential games are EA Sports FC 24 (PS4, PS5), Ghostrunner 2 (PS5), Tunic (PS4, PS5) and Destiny 2: Lightfall (PS4, PS5).
PlayStation Plus members can add Ghostrunner 2, Tunic and Destiny 2: Lightfall to their game library until June 3, while EA Sports FC 24 will be available to claim until June 17.
Subscribers can also claim the PlayStation Plus Football Ultimate Team Starter Pack for EA Sports FC 24. It includes 11 untradeable players rated 82 or above, plus one of football’s all-time greats as an Icon Loan Player Pick for seven games.
Essential is the entry-level PlayStation Plus membership tier, which offers subscribers access to a few ‘free’ games every month.
The service’s more expensive Extra and Premium tiers offer subscribers access to the Game Catalogue, a library of up to 400 downloadable PS4 and PS5 games, as well as Ubisoft+ Classics, a curated selection of titles from the Assassin’s Creed publisher.
Features reserved for Premium subscribers include game trials, cloud streaming, and access to the Classics Catalogue, which includes hundreds of games from the original PlayStation, PS2, PS3 and PSP.
Sony is removing over 25 games from the Game Catalogue this month, including Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition and six Final Fantasy titles.

Sony’s lineup for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers in May 2024 has been officially revealed, with all titles going live on May 21st. Compared to competitor Xbox Game Pass, it's relatively rare for PlayStation Plus Extra to add day one games. However, there are indeed times when PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers are treated to brand-new, day one releases, with some fantastic games added as day one releases in the past.
The wait may have been longer than some expected, but the free PlayStation Plus games for May 2024 are finally available for subscribers to claim. As always, the monthly free PlayStation Plus games are available to all subscribers, regardless of tier.
PlayStation Plus subscribers have one last chance to claim the free PS Plus games for April 2024, even though it's already May 6. New PlayStation Plus free games are rotated in on a monthly basis. The previous PS Plus free games are available until the first Tuesday of the following month, and so Monday, May 6 marks the last day that subscribers can snag the free games that were available in April 2024.
Unfortunately for PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers, it seems an additional seven games are leaving the service, bringing the total to a whopping 34 games that are on their way out. PlayStation Plus Extra games are removed on a monthly basis, but 34 is still a lot of games to see go removed all at one time. All 34 games are expected to be removed from the PlayStation Plus Extra tier on Tuesday, May 21.
