It appears more documents have leaked out online regarding future Microsoft plans. In fact, we had a leak earlier today that covered the plans for a mid-gen refresh for the Xbox Series X/S console platforms. However, another document was uncovered that shares details of a customized Xbox Series X console option. If Microsoft continues to pursue this option, we’ll see an Xbox Series X option available within the Xbox Design Lab. However, we’re uncertain just when these plans will be rolling out. 

Microsoft and Xbox representatives appeared in court various times earlier this year to get its colossal $69 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard legally approved. As usual, specific documents, emails, and more were sealed away from the public and press during court proceedings. However, various unseen documents have leaked, which is how we learned Xbox head Phil Spencer considered acquiring Nintendo and Warner Bros. Games at one point. Other documents point to Microsoft's plans for an Xbox Series X/S refresh next year alongside a new controller that features gyro, haptic feedback, and more, as reported by The Verge.

Overnight on September 19, a huge Microsoft and Bethesda leak sprang from the Xbox FTC court documents. Information about new console plans, upcoming Xbox Series X games, and the company's reaction to defining industry events has emerged thanks to improperly-redacted court documents, giving a fascinating insight into one of gaming's biggest players, as well as details about a whole suite of new developments.

Microsoft plans to refresh its Xbox hardware lineup in 2024 with new versions of the Series S and Series X consoles and a new “more immersive” controller, according to unredacted documents released as part of the Federal Trade Commission’s case against the Activision Blizzard merger that have apparently been released by accident.

Microsoft appears to have big plans for the popular Xbox Series X, including a refreshed model that will include new features and a dramatic new look.

During its trial with the FTC, Microsoft said it expected the next console generation to start in 2028. Many suspected it had plans for a next-gen Xbox, which is more or less confirmed thanks to several leaked court documents (courtesy of Resetera). However, the company will seemingly refresh the current Xbox Series consoles with new features before that.

Microsoft is planning to release a redesigned Xbox Series X console, codenamed ‘Brooklin’, with a new design and controller.

Thanks to leaked FTC court documents, it has been revealed that Xbox is working on a Series X mid-console revision that is entirely digital with 2TB of storage, aiming to launch in October of next year.

We're in full Starfield fever now, so if you're planning on picking up an Xbox Series X for the blockbuster release we'd recommend checking out this offer at Dell. Ascendant Studios and EA’s Immortals of Aveum is out now, and reviews for the single player magic shooter have been lukewarm at best. And as it turns out, impressions on the game’s technical performance aren’t exactly glowingly positive either.

Though it seemed for a while that Baldur’s Gate 3 might not be able to hit Xbox Series X/S util next year, Larian Studios recently confirmed that the acclaimed RPG will indeed be coming to Xbox in 2023, with splitscreen co-op not supported on Xbox Series S. The Xbox fans of the world won’t have to wait much longer to play Baldur’s Gate 3, as Larian Studios has confirmed that the game will launch on Xbox Series X/S in 2023.
