Alan Wake II downloadable content “Night Springs” will launch on June 8, Epic Games Publishing and developer Remedy Entertainment announced.

The official Alan Wake 2 soundtrack, composed by Petri Alanko, will be made available across a variety of platforms for streaming and purchase from tomorrow. 35 music tracks designed to capture «the emotion, tension, and mystery of the game’s story» will be streamable on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, and more while it can be purchased on iTunes and Amazon.

Remedy has published its financial results for 2023, and reported a 22.2% decrease in revenue to €33.9 million compared to €43.6 million during the same period last year.

Alan Wake 2 still hasn't recouped its development costs despite establishing itself as Remedy Entertainment's fastest-selling title to date, the Finnish developer has revealed. That disclosure was accompanied by some specific sales figures for Alan Wake 2, which look promising enough to suggest that the game will manage to break even in the near future.

The Epic Games Store has kicked off its 2023 Holiday Sale, and once again the daily free games are back—17 of them in all, beginning today with Destiny 2: Legacy Collection, a bundle of the Witch Queen, Beyond Light, and Shadowkeep expansions for Destiny 2.

The Epic Games Store Holiday sale is live, and through Jan. 10, you can save 33% on thousands of titles in the Epic Games catalog. While Epic typically offers a single-use coupon during its holiday sales, this year, it’s offering unlimited 33% coupons that can be applied to purchases of $14.99 or more. The coupon can be applied to multiple items in a single transaction and will be returned to your account following checkout.

Remedy is known for its meta-narratives and intricately detailed worlds. Fans are familiar with this, and a hidden QR code demonstrates just how forward-thinking the Finnish developers are.

I kind of miss the days where Black Friday was just one day of over-the-top sales and discounts. Back in the early 2010s, the US shopping bonanza was just finding its way across the pond and that’s pretty much all it was. Then we had Cyber Monday tacked onto the end, and then shops started their sales a week or two before the day, and now, as we sit through actual Black Friday, there’s just not much excitement to see what’s on offer… because it’s all been on sale for the last week.

Remedy's long-awaited sequel is launching on October 27, but you can't buy it on Steam.

The scariest thing to video game developers isn’t ghosts or monsters, as the new Alone in the Dark game has been pushed to 2024, partly to avoid an incredibly busy October gaming season, where it would have competed with Alan Wake 2 and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. This is a wise decision, considering how packed 2023 has been as a whole, especially as Alone in the Dark also needs extra polish time.

PlayStation Plus' monthly free games for August 2023 have been announced. The three titles will be available to members of PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Deluxe/ Premium plans, starting August 1. Members can compete to become the next FedExCup Champion in PGA Tour 2K23, slay armies of fantastical beasts and demigods in Death's Door, and dive into the ever-changing universe of Dreams, which is laden with community-created games and tools to unleash your creativity. These games can be added to your PS4 and PS5 games library until September 4, after which you'll need to hold on to your PS Plus subscription for continued access.

Sony has named its offering of games available to all PlayStation Plus members for the month of August.

Sony has revealed the PlayStation Plus monthly games lineup for August. There’s no clear headliner here, but a trio of nifty titles are about to drop, including the incredible Zelda-ish adventure Death’s Door and a little-known golf sim called PGA Tour 2K23. Also in the lineup is Media Molecule’s long-running game-making platform Dreams.

Sony has announced August’s lineup of PlayStation Plus games, all of which are available to download from August 1 to September 4.
