Alan Wake Remastered has a well-hidden Alan Wake 2 Easter egg

Remedy Entertainment's Alan Wake 2 received widespread acclaim from fans and critics when it launched on 27th October, continuing the tale of the tortured, titular writer. The sequel to the cult-classic Alan Wake, buoyed by more than a decade of hype and developed by a Remedy with the momentum of a well-received Control behind it, you'd expect the game to sell like gangbusters, wouldn't you?

After years of working, we released Alan Wake 2 a bit over a month ago. We wanted to create an ambitious, unique game, and with something like that there’s always nervousness about how it will be received. The reception has been beyond anything we could have hoped for, with Alan Wake 2 taking home The Game Awards trophies for Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, and Best Game Direction. We are deeply grateful for that. 

Old Gods of Asgard, the fictional heavy metal band from Alan Wake 2, has entered the iTunes global top 10 album charts.

Alan Wake 2 is getting a New Game Plus mode called The Final Draft on December 11, 2023, developer Remedy Entertainment has announced.

Baldur's Gate III took home the top honour at The Game Awards 2023, held early Friday in Los Angeles, besting its lead competitor Alan Wake II. The Dungeons & Dragons-based sprawling RPG, which was strongly revered by both fans and critics alike, bagged six trophies, including Best Community Support and Best Performance. The latter was collected by Neil Newbon, who played Astarion, the silver-haired vampire spawn, holding our attention with his melodramatic persona and the occasional high-pitched screeches. Meanwhile, Remedy's Alan Wake 2 won four awards across some of the most important categories, with co-directors Sam Lake and Kyle Rowley emerging as the best game directors of the year, alongside a writing/ narrative nod.

New Game Plus details for Alan Wake 2 have seemingly leaked online, and they actually contain some pretty hefty spoilers.

The GTA6 trailer has officially crash landed, blowing up Youtube and everywhere else on the internet with a blistering sizzle reel of social media madness. Like a swarm of crabs in Florida, we’re about to descend on this beached whale – because we’re taking a quick look at some of the tiny, tiny details in this trailer. Some of these are definitely Easter eggs. Some are observations, tiny secrets, references to previous games or just stuff we’ll find when we’re playing the full game sometime in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

The hotly anticipated GTA 6 trailer is out now, and you bet we’ve been watching it on 0.25 speed to try and pick up on any details you may have missed. As with any Rockstar release, while the clip itself is only 90 seconds long, each frame is densely detailed. And we can confirm the Scottish studio’s sense of humour is alive and well, as it lampoons modern American life in a number of different ways.
