Stellaris is probably my favorite grand strategy game of all time, so when I saw developer Fast Travel Games was creating a standalone VR roguelite set in the Stellaris universe, I immediately became interested. I’ll admit, I don’t have too much experience with VR. But the idea of a Stellaris story with its many species, systems, and space structures sounded like the perfect fit for VR. Ghost Signal: A Stellaris Story steps away from grand strategy and instead puts players in control of a single ship as they traverse systems dealing with threats, acquiring upgrades, and tracking down the Ghost Signal.

has three main villains and several others that the Origin characters face throughout three acts. However, Orin the Red, in particular, treats the party as if it has a good moral alignment, even if that's not the case. As a result, Orin's attempts to be evil are overshadowed and fall flat in the face of an evil party. It turns out that Orin isn't all that skilled when it comes to choosing blackmail material. Or, at the very least, the best blackmail material isn't available to her for the taking.

This season of American Horror Story opened with the most shocking premiere ever: nary a dead body, faceless ghost, or blood spill in sight.

There’s very little mystery to find in Lies of P — the areas are generally extremely linear, with no optional bosses or hidden locations. But, if you do search each chapter thoroughly, you can answer a series of mysterious riddles from ringing public phones. Answering the riddles correctly will reward you with a Trinity Key — these keys open hidden doors around the city of Krat. Finding them all gives you access to a special final door that’s both creepy and reveals more about the world — if you’re invested in the Story of P this can’t be missed.

There are several new and returning creatures in the DLC for , all of which increase the Pokédex’s numbers in the Generation 9 games. The new DLC is the first part of the larger expansion pack called The Hidden Treasure Of Area Zero. The second DLC for is called, though it does not yet have a release date. The Gen 9 games for Nintendo Switch increased the National Dex count to over 1,000 creatures, and the new DLC is continuing the expansion by bringing new Pokémon for Trainers to catch.

Every year, I partake in one particular autumn tradition against my own better judgment: I watch the first episode of American Horror Story, getting all my hopes up, absolutely knowing that I’m going to be disappointed.

Contra has had its highs and lows over the years, but the franchise is obviously famous for its arcade debut, which is arguably one of the greatest shooters ever made. Now, developer WayForward has announced a modern reimagining of the all-time classic Contra: Operation Galuga, which promises “modern graphics and sound, new stages, new enemies and bosses, new play mechanics, an updated weapons system, and explosive co-op combat for up to two players in Story Mode or four players in Arcade Mode”.

Havik is a fan-favorite character returning to that you can unlock by engaging with the interactive story mode available in the new entry to this brutal fighting game franchise. A blood priest that brutalizes their own body for grotesque and darkly comedic attacks, Havik has a distinct fighting style that makes them stand out. While Havik may take extra effort to play, his unique gameplay makes this investment worth it.

Way back in 2019, I did my first game review for Destructoid. It was for Doinksoft’s Gato Roboto. I wasn’t a huge fan. I thought that it played well but was derivative and insubstantial, largely paling in comparison to the games it took inspiration from. To be fair, however, that was one of Doinksoft’s first attempts as a studio, and imitating those that inspired you is a totally fair way to start out.

A few things we’ve known about this season of American Horror Story: First, it’s going to be the first season based on something, in this case Delicate Condition, a horror novel by Danielle Valentine; second, it’s the first season not solely helmed by Ryan Murphy; and third, as well as most importantly, Kim Kardashian is playing a major role.

Get ready for throwback action because developer Maple Powered Games is working on a new G.I. Joe beat ’em up. The studio announced G.I. Joe: Wrath of Cobra with Q1 2024 release plans on Nintendo Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.

NetherRealm Studios truly went all out when they crafted the new paradigm shift for Mortal Kombat 1. As has been noted, the game focuses on a new world/timeline that Fire God Liu Kang created after getting the powerful hourglass from Kronika in the last game. He spent a long time trying to figure out how to make a world where everything and everyone could be peaceful and have better lives than before. Naturally, it won’t work out as he thinks, but A for Effort, Liu Kang. Due to his changes, many characters have been reborn anew or given entirely new backstories.
