Something about postapocalyptic video games makes them perfect for adaptations. Fallout, The Last of Us, and Twisted Metal all have that kind of setting and have been some of the most well-liked video game adaptations ever. Maybe it’s because the apocalypse provides such a rich sandbox to play in, or maybe it’s because that kind of setting forces characters to make difficult choices, but it’s the kind of setting that makes for both good gaming and TV.

Reverse: 1999 Patch 1.8, “Goodbye, Rayashki.” Releasing on April 11th, this patch takes you to early 20th-century Russia, a unique setting for a gacha game. While the core gameplay remains the same, the story in “Goodbye, Rayashki” is fresh.

Today, on the fifth anniversary of the launch of Metro Exodus, 4A Games announced that the latest mainline installment in their franchise has sold 10 million units, thus averaging two million per year. Previous sales milestones include six million units two years ago and 8.5 million units as of last March.

The Queen's Gambit Chess has finally gone live on Android and iOS, via Netflix Games. Almost three years since the Anya Taylor-Joy-led miniseries premiered on the platform, developer Ripstone Games — best known for immersive board video games like Poker Club and Chess Ultra — has dedicated this love letter composed of lessons for newbies, puzzles, and faithfully recreated locations from the show. The game is available exclusively to Netflix subscribers, regardless of what plan you're on. Now, it's only natural for players to wonder what this game provides that Chess.com doesn't, and much of it boils down to the presentation and the 3D world it has created. Plus, the show's brand recognition is good for introducing chess to more people.

There is a moment near the end of the first episode of Marvel’s Secret Invasion TV series that will feel uneasily familiar to politically attuned viewers.
