On Friday, October 20, popular live streaming platform Twitch hosted day 1 of TwitchCon, its semi-annual gaming convention in Las Vegas. During the keynote session, the company announced a number of new updates that included new features for streamers, and viewers, as well as updation of its policies. During the event, Twitch also announced that it will finally allow the non-exclusive streamers to simulcast (simultaneously stream on different live streaming platforms at the same time). This comes as a breath of fresh air for some of the big-name content creators on the platform who were forced to stream at different schedules on different platforms.

Saved by the Bell was a phenomenon no one was expecting, but one that didn’t catch on in its first incarnation — Good Morning Miss Bliss. We've seen a bunch of crossovers between the two in the past, and the latest is one that even all of you D&D fans that aren't interested in MTG can get behind.

When is Evo 2023? If you're asking that question, you're probably set on watching the world's largest fighting game tournament unfold over the course of the weekend. The Sony-backed event runs over the course of three days, and all of it is being streamed live on Twitch.

On July 28, Square Enix’s Creative Business Unit III unveiled the newest expansion for Final Fantasy 14, Dawntrail, at the 2023 FF14 Fan Festival. There’s little doubt that Square Enix has loved making their MMORPG of their classic RPG. While previous attempts at such a thing didn’t work out, their fourteenth mainline game worked beautifully. They could weave the character styles and vast world together into something gamers would want to play and enjoy. But you might have thought that with Endwalker, everything was truly at an end. But that wasn’t the case at all. During the recent fan festival in Las Vegas, the team dropped numerous announcements, including that Final Fantasy XIVDawntrail was coming and it would bring plenty with it.

This weekend, the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival kicked off, bringing about fifteen thousand fans to Las Vegas to get the latest news, hang out with fellow fans, and do stuff (like wait in lines). The initial keynote, given by director and lead producer Naoki Yoshida, was the most emphasized event of the weekend, and literally nothing else opened up until it was wrapped up—so fans knew they were in for something , mostly likely a new expansion. And it was! 

Final Fantasy 14 has teased what to expect from the MMO’s upcoming patches, the last updates to hit the game before the release of incoming expansion Dawntrail next year. As usual, there’s a lot of stuff planned, from new dungeons and trials, to quests and XIV’s upcoming Fall Guys crossover.

There was a time when Final Fantasy 14's free trial was not very generous. Back when I started playing in August 2014, it was a measly two-week tryout with a cap of level 20. That changed to a level 35 cap with no time restrictions soon after, and then three years ago we were treated to the endlessly memed trial that was the entirety of A Realm Reborn plus its first expansion Heavensward, up to level 60. That's already a good couple-hundred hours for absolutely free, but now that pot is about to get a hell of a lot sweeter.

While this weekend's announcement of Final Fantasy 14's next expansion Dawntrail was huge news for fans, for new players yet to jump into Eorzea the prospect of even more story to get through may be a daunting one.

The next patch for Final Fantasy 14 (6.5) will be released early October this year and will be called Growing Light.
