Microsoft could expand to new markets with ad-supported game streaming.

Microsoft is reportedly planning to offer free game streaming in exchange for advertisements. As per TweakTown, Xbox Gaming CFO Tim Stuart suggested during the recent Wells Fargo TMT Summit that to expand geographically, it would be ideal to leverage the company's xCloud service, allowing players to cloud stream games at any ‘endpoint' via a simple Game Pass Ultimate subscription. He further added, “For models like Africa, or India, Southeast Asia, maybe places that aren't console-first, you can say, ‘Hey, do you want to watch 30 seconds of an ad and then get two hours of game streaming?'”

Microsoft is keen on expanding its Game Pass subscription service by bringing it to more devices. Xbox CFO Tim Stuart revealed during a talk at the Wells Fargo TMT Summit that the company wants to bring first-party Xbox titles and Game Pass to “every screen that can play games,” including competing devices like PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.

For months, banks have been jockeying to lure the best AI talent to their ranks — and Goldman Sachs Group Inc. has been on the losing end of that fight.  The Wall Street giant has seen a net outflow of 60 people to rivals such as Morgan Stanley and Citigroup Inc. in the 12 months through September, the most of any of its biggest rivals, according to data compiled by the consultancy Evident. Bank of America, which is down 55 staffers, suffered the second-biggest exodus, while Wells Fargo & Co. had the biggest net increase with 130 people. 

Microsoft’s Xbox division has been pushing towards a digital future with the Game Pass subscription service. It opens up a massive catalog of video game titles to enjoy. Likewise, you get all of Microsoft’s first-party video game titles. However, that doesn’t mean that Game Pass is as easily accessible as Microsoft would like. Currently, the Game Pass subscription service is rather widely available, but it’s not enough in Microsoft’s eyes. Recently, Xbox CFO Tim Stuart spoke about the move to bring Game Pass out to more platforms. 

«I've never been more excited for a technology shift in the gaming landscape,» Tim Stuart says.

«It's a bit of a change of strategy,» Microsoft admits.
