Homelander will not be voiced by Antony Starr in Mortal Kombat 1

Trump has left the White House, but The Boys is still dealing with the political fallout from that — specifically, the mess that Homelander (Antony Starr) created in season 3 when he lasered someone’s face off.

The PlayStation 6 console may be quite far from release, but it seems like Sony is working on a few things that will considerably change console gaming.

It shouldn’t come as a surprise, but the live-action project announced in October is still in the works. If you don’t recall, CD Projekt Red revealed that they partnered with Anonymous Content to develop a live-action project based within the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. Not much has been unveiled yet about what this project will entail; however, you won’t see it launched next year. That’s at least according to CD Projekt Red. 

These players don't want to pay for skins that could previously be earned through gameplay.

OpenAI’s board of directions recently made the decision to remove Sam Altman as CEO, and though there has been a power struggle to reinstate him back to his original position, the final verdict will remain unchanged. Mira Murati, OpenAI’s Chief Technology Officer, was said to be the company’s interim CEO, but now, a former Twitch Chief Executive will take that position.

PC Gamer recently had a discussion with Game Director Ion Hazzikostas about the early access feature coming with the Epic Edition of The War Within. In almost all major Google events in 2023, we saw the company come out and drop a subtle line asking Apple to support its RCS, or Rich Communication Services messages. RCS chat is seen as the next step in carrier-supported messaging and the successor to SMS. And after all those ‘wink and smile' moments directed at Apple, the Cupertino-based tech giant has finally announced support for RCS in iPhones starting in 2024. But, there's a catch! When Google made those pleas, it was also to ask Apple to end the green vs blue bubble which indicates whether the sender of the message is using an iPhone or an Android phone — but Google will not like the color Apple has in store for RCS (it's not blue). 

Despite lending his likeness to Homelander's guest appearance in Mortal Kombat 1, actor Antony Starr has seemingly confirmed that's where his involvement ends.

Antony Starr, who plays Homelander in Amazon Prime show The Boys, has said he is not voicing the famous supervillain in fighting game Mortal Kombat 1, much to the disappointment of fans.

Anthony Starr – the voice behind The Boys' Homelander – has confirmed he will not be reprising his role in Mortal Kombat 1.

WB Games titles are no strangers to controversy surrounding monetization methods, and sure enough, Mortal Kombat 1 has attracted some of that as well, having drawn criticism from the community for its lack of alternate skins in DLC, and its recent Halloween-themed $10 Premium Fatality, among other things.

Mortal Kombat games have a history of adding popular cross-media guest DLC characters over the years, many of which are often voiced by their original actors- though things don’t always turn out that way. For instance, though it’s been previously confirmed that Invincible’s Omni-Man and DC’s Peacemaker will be voiced by J.K. Simmons and John Cena respectively when they join Mortal Kombat 1’s roster, fellow DLC guest character Homelander of The Boys fame won’t be voiced by his original actor, Antony Starr.
