Helldivers 2 tells players to save a planet before they can unlock mechs

With the current Major Order looking all but complete, Helldivers 2 players are attempting to rally their fellow soldiers to the fight on Mantes. The issue, though, is that plenty of people don't fancy the fight against the Automatons.

Players all across the known galaxy converge on certain planets under the name of spreading Managed Democracy in the game Through immersive and organic storytelling reminiscent of the enigmatic gamemaster known as Joel shapes the greater narrative of the game as players contend with hordes of bugs and bots. One way Arrowhead Game Studios directs story efforts is by issuing Major Orders. These missions direct the overall strategy and aims of the playerbase.

It's been a turbulent few days in the Helldivers 2 community. Arrowhead Game Studios (and the Ministry of Truth) has finally admitted that flying bugs are real, and the airborne critters are currently running wild in the game. We were also given a seriously tough Major Order from galactic game master Joel, which tasked us with liberating five planets in just three days.

If you’re playing Helldivers 2 and finding the game crashes more than usual, you’re not alone. Developer Arrowhead has said a lot of players are currently being affected by a crash issue, which is linked to the release of a recent patch, and it’s on the case.

Although the general playerbase of has picked up a number of important victories in the ongoing Galactic War, the newest Major Order could prove to be an all but impossible task. Serving as the main system that pushes the ongoing narrative of forwards, the Galactic War measures the playerbase's collective efforts on multiple fronts of a galaxy-spanning conflict, with Major Orders representing major pushes against one enemy faction.

Despite splitting its galactic war relatively evenly across multiple factions, hasn't managed to maintain an equal divide between the Terminid and Automaton fronts, with the playerbase generally favoring the Terminids. As the galactic war of progresses, however, with the potential for new factions to be added, there are some potential ways to alleviate the relative unpopularity of fighting automatons — that is, if the disparity between them is seen as an issue worth trying to solve.

The community has never shied away from tackling the Galactic War with gusto, but when taking a step back to look at the overall picture, some of the current efforts of Super Earth's soldiers might actually be poised to backfire. Although individual objectives can vary, the basic prerogatives of are always simple enough. Terminids and Automatons must be defeated at all costs, a necessary step in ensuring the safety and spread of Managed Democracy throughout the galaxy.

As the Galactic War in continues to evolve, new challenges are constantly being introduced, giving players plenty of opportunity to experiment with new strategies. A recent Major Order has refocused the war effort on the Terminid front, tasking Helldivers with activating the newly operational Terminid Control System in unique missions similar to those in the failed Automaton defense campaign. Getting the Terminid Control System up and running brings its own difficulties to the game, however, and there are a couple underrated Stratagems that can really shine in these unique missions.

presents players with an abundance of different tools to eliminate the deadly armies of the Terminids and Automatons and Arrowhead Studios is giving fans some insight into how those Stratagems are created. One of the core components of the popular co-op shooter is the ability to call down equipment and support from the skies, most of which take the form of explosive air strikes or precision missile launches. They're undoubtedly one of the most fun aspects of and director Johan Pilestedt wants everyone to know how the team creates them.

Helldivers 2 has a brand new Major Order focusing on quarantining the Terminid threat, but players will need to rapidly liberate four players to clear the objective.

There is no shortage of big bugs to tackle in Helldivers 2, not least the colossal Terminids known as Bile Titans, but if the latest fan theory is to be believed, a much bigger and more formidable foe is on the way.
