Although the general playerbase of has picked up a number of important victories in the ongoing Galactic War, the newest Major Order could prove to be an all but impossible task. Serving as the main system that pushes the ongoing narrative of forwards, the Galactic War measures the playerbase's collective efforts on multiple fronts of a galaxy-spanning conflict, with Major Orders representing major pushes against one enemy faction.
So far in, the majority of the goals set forward by Major Orders have been successfully accomplished by the players, with the sole exception of an early campaign to defend certain planets from an Automaton push. In particular, recent Major Orders have met their goals well before the deadline, and increased player focus and a diminished rate of liberation decay has led to the capture of several planets. However, as of the currently ongoing Major Order, it seems likely that the string of recent player victories will be coming to an end.
's newest Major Order tasks the playerbase with capturing two planets, Fori Prime and Zagon Prime — unfortunately, however, it seems likecapturing both planets before the deadline will be almost impossible. Both planets, at the start of the Major Order, were not available for players to start operations on, requiring other planets to be captured first, and the Major Order's short duration of only three days has given very little time for the playerbase to capture the necessary planets.
At the start of the Major Order, at least five planets had to be liberated for it to be successful — alongside the two goals of the campaign, players would have to liberate Estanu for a path to Fori Prime, and Hellmire and Nivel-43 for a path to Zagon Prime. At the time of writing, with roughly a day and a half left to complete the order, only Estanu has been completely liberated, and Fori Prime is still in the early stages of liberation. With how liberating planets in Helldivers 2 works, it's unlikely that players will manage to meet the deadline.
Planets on 's galactic map have invisible «supply lines» between them which dictate which locations players can access. In order to access most planets further into the map, a planet with a direct line to them will have to be liberated first.
While the playerbase has come up with plans to efficiently capture the required planets, the current rate of liberation won't be enough — without a drastic increase, the Major Order will end before players manage to liberate the required planets, and there's a decent chance that the push might not be enough to even reach Zagon Prime before that point. Failing to capture the planets in time would make the current campaign the second Major Order overall to be failed by the

Developer Arrowhead Studios delivered a new Major Order to Helldivers 2 players, giving them a 24-hour window to finally take back Malevelon Creek. The planet was liberated in only about five hours.
As the community continues to fight in Super Earth's galactic war, one dedicated play has envisioned a simple yet effective solution to one of the game's persistent problems: Supply lines. While Arrowhead Studios does an excellent job of introducing mechanics and concepts to players, one aspect that isn't clarified when starting up the game is how interplanetary travel works. Fortunately, with such a committed player base, it didn't take long for players to learn about supply lines but despite the discovery, many are still unclear on how they actually work.
In a confusing twist that's seen developer Arrowhead and Game Master Joel follow the will of the player base, Helldivers 2's new Major Order has put a bullseye on Malevelon Creek to free the controversial planet once and for all.
As the Helldivers 2 community formally piles into Malevelon Creek for a surprise Major Order following a failed operation, creative director and Arrowhead CEO Johan Pilestedt says the studio is talking about ways to make such orders easier to understand.
A new threat is emerging on the Automaton front in , and it may be significant enough to turn the tide of battle. Arrowhead Game Studios' third-person co-op shooter has excelled as a live-service title through its ongoing story, in which players are embroiled in the Galactic War as Super Earth's elite Helldiver units. So far, the Helldivers have seen more success than failure, but a new Automaton enemy could put Super Earth's latest offensive in jeopardy.
Helldivers 2's ongoing Major Order has tasked the community with liberating Tibit before the weekend is done, but the war effort on the Galactic West just suffered a fatal setback and High Command is blaming distracted divers for the loss.
