Videos of a surprising number of Five Nights at Freddy's fans stealing posters, cutouts, and merchandise of the movie from cinemas have been shared online.
After years of being in development hell, the long-awaited Five Nights at Freddy's movie finally hit cinemas yesterday and, unsurprisingly, it's causing a lot of buzz online. While most fans are content with just reacting to the bevvy of easter eggs and references that can be found in the movie (such as the appearance of one YouTuber we all hoped would be in it), some have taken to committing crimes in the name of Freddy Fazbear merchandise.
Although the Five Nights at Freddy's movie has been poorly received by critics, it seems that it's a big hit with fans as it currently sits at 8.2 on Metacritic, indicating Universal Acclaim.
As shared by Twitter user solarkarii and originally posted on TikTok by clementineprice, it seems that some fans are so excited about the Five Nights at Freddy's movie finally coming out that they've taken to stealing posters and cutouts for the film from cinemas. The compilation shared by solarkarii shows several different fans running away from cinemas while carrying posters and cutouts used to advertise the film.
The first video shows someone sprinting down some escalators with the triangular cutout that's usually placed at the front of movie theatres, while the second shows a group of friends carrying an even bigger version of that cutout. Another video that is shown later in the compilation shows the cardboard cutout version of the poster being lugged around, while another shows someone with a more normal-sized poster in their arms as they sprint away.
Although some of the videos just show Five Nights at Freddy's fans getting away with the advertisements scott-free, a few of them actually show security guards (no, not the kind that watch monitors at night and avoid animatronics) chasing after them or stopping them at the door before they can get away. Others just show some rather confused people looking on as grown adults sprint away with merchandise from a PG-13 movie, but I guess they're just not as big Fazheads as the rest of us.
It's not clear if stealing the Five Nights at Freddy's movie poster has become some sort of viral meme or internet challenge considering how many people can be seen here doing it, but Twitter user BubblesPopple claims that it's a common occurrence in Mexico (where most of the videos in the complication seemingly originate from) whenever a movie is particularly popular.

Earlier this year, an officially endorsed Five Nights at Freddy's fan game called FNAF Plus was cancelled following controversy with its creator Phil Morg (who goes by Phisnom on Twitter and YouTube). There are so many Five Nights at Freddy’s Easter eggs and cameos that we can barely keep track, but a new theory suggests we may have missed the biggest one.
End credit scenes seem to be a big trend in movies today, especially horror, so it is no surprise that Five Nights at Freddy’s has some treats hidden in its final moments. Aside from the Five Nights at Freddy's post-credits scene starring Balloon Boy, the latter comes in the shape of a muffled Morse code-like message, letting the audience know that the story is not over, and even suggesting a possible sequel.

Spider-Man 2 has a lot of MCU suits, bringing all of Tom Holland's different looks to the game alongside an original design. That makes nine total, nine little Tom Hollands crammed into the menu waiting to be plucked out. That's far too many as far as fans are concerned.
