City of Heroes: Rebirth has released Issue 6: Dawn of Genesis, Bringing some new features, including the next incarnate power, Genesis, the dangers (and rewards) of Pandora’s Box, along with new challenge settings, new epic power sets, and costume options.
The new update is a packed one, and a new trailer gives an overview of what to expect. Genesis is the title of the issue for a reason, with threats happening all over as enemies gain new power from the Genesis wave. The new Incarnate power Genesis will enhance effects of another Incarnate ability. If you use it, you'll get a new version of the Incarnate ability that it's boosting, with trade-offs, but you'll be able to use them anytime.
There will be four types of Incarnate power trees that you can choose from: Data, Fate, Socket, and Verdict. they each have different effects and what they boost, so you have to pick what you want to concentrate on or best benefit from, whether that's Lore pet damage and Max HP, Judgment damage, endurance, or something else.
Pandora's Box is also opening, so there will be Task Forces and Strike Forces where you'll be able to fight enemies that are empowered with Coalesced Primordial Energy. Keep an eye out for newspaper missions or traveling through time, or even police bands and you'll hear about what's going on. Enemies imbued with the power of this energy will be stronger, but by defeating them, you'll unlock or progress your own incarnate powers. Of course, you'll also be able to claim rewards for your work.
The update brings back leaderboard kiosks, new challenges, and more to keep yourself busy with, and it also expands two epic power sets, Marshall Prowess, and Munitions Mastery. If you want a new look, there are a number of new costume parts and expansions, including headscarves, new emblems, cropped graphic tees for female characters with custom emblems, updated costume parts, and new master and apprentice robes.
It’s a big update, and you can read all of the details (and start thinking about what you want to evolve your characters), over at City of Heroes Rebirth.
