Bulletstorm VR Has Been Delayed by a Month

Last year Actor Edwin Gaffney posted two images on Instagram which seemed to suggest Ubisoft were working on a game based on Marvel’s Blade.  This turned out to be a joke with Ubisoft confirming they are not working on the game.  In retrospect that’s actually quite odd, studios don’t really comment on that sort of rumour but now it’s clear why they did, Arkane are making a Blade game.

Well, it's finally happened: Skull and Bones has a release date. Yes, another one. Revealed tonight at The Game Awards, Ubisoft's repeatedly-delayed game of piracy on the high seas is now set to launch on February 16, 2024, following a closed beta test set to run December 15-18.

Capcom unveiled Monster Hunter Wilds at tonight's Game Awards live show, and it looks like a long-awaited mix of Monster Hunter World and Monster Hunter Rise.

I’ve collected video game delay notices like Christmas candy, and today I have one more to shove in the stocking. The Alone in the Dark remake has been delayed once more until early next year — but the reason should leave most feeling jolly.

Originally scheduled for an October 2023 release, developer Pieces Interactive and publisher THQ Nordic’s Alone in the Dark reboot was delayed into January of next year to avoid a clash with other major games releasing around its original release date. With a little over a month left until its launch though, the survival horror title has been hit with another delay.

To be fair, video game developers do deserve to enjoy a stress-free holiday season while they're crafting a new survival-horror experience.

For fans of the Alone in the Dark franchise, it’s been a bit of a waiting game on a new installment. The last mainline installment release came in 2015 with Alone in the Dark: Illumination. However, due to fans not taking up with the game, Atari SA sold the rights to the IP, with THQ Nordic being the new owner. They unveiled that a new game would be coming out, and it was expected to be released in January of next year. But now it looks to be a bit further into the upcoming year. THQ Nordic has unveiled that they are moving the game back for the development team.

Though Bulletstorm has yet to see a sequel, People Can Fly is expanding on it with Bulletstorm VR. Launching next month, it features two exclusive levels with Trishka Novak in the leading role as she hunts General Sarrano (when not berating Grayson Hunt). Level-5’s output has been a bit inconsistent in recent years, but the Japanese developer does have some promising games in the pipeline. For instance, earlier this year, it announced DECAPOLICE, a detective RPG set in a futuristic, crime-ridden city. And though originally the game was set to launch later in 2023, Level-5 has now announced that it has been delayed.

Destiny 2’s next expansion, The Final Shape, has officially been delayed.

A lot of hype and work is being put on the next major DLC for Destiny 2. The game developers are likely rather stressed to ensure that this DLC delivers in a big way. In the past, we’ve reported about the rumors of this expansion being basically a make-or-break moment. Then, several rumors suggested that Bungie was internally setting this game further back to ensure they had enough time to make this an expansion that would see players returning to the game again. Now it’s official as Bungie decided to reveal that The Final Shape is being delayed.
