Last year Actor Edwin Gaffney posted two images on Instagram which seemed to suggest Ubisoft were working on a game based on Marvel’s Blade. This turned out to be a joke with Ubisoft confirming they are not working on the game. In retrospect that’s actually quite odd, studios don’t really comment on that sort of rumour but now it’s clear why they did, Arkane are making a Blade game.
In Marvel’s Blade, Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half-man, half-vampire torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead. From Bethesda and Arkane Lyon, the studio that brought you Dishonored and “DEATHLOOP”, Marvel’s Blade is a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris, now in development in collaboration with Marvel Games.
I probably don’t need to remined you that Arkane are part of Bethesda which is owned by Microsoft so there’s a good chance Blade will be Xbox exclusive. Disney are not adverse to exclusivity deals as the Spider-Man games have shown, but given Xbox is so far behind in terms of console sales this generation they might have pushed for a multi-platform deal.
There’s no release date for the game but it would be sensible to release it around the same time as the Marvel Blade movie and that’s currently set for November 2025. Given that that there’s no in-game footage in teh trailer it’s probably safe to say the title is very earlier in development.
Blade joins Black Panther, Black Panther (again) and Captain America, Wolverine, and Iron Man who all have upcoming games, and of course Sony’s smash hit Spider-Man series.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is one of the biggest games of the year, and we were big fans, even if it didn't stray enough from the established Insomniac formula for our taste. Still, it seems we weren't the only ones surprised to find that, despite being nominated in seven separate categories, Sony's latest PlayStation exclusive didn't bag a single statue at The Game Awards.
Marvel’s Blade was announced during The Game Awards earlier this week, a massive budget third-person action game set in a reimagined Paris. Development, however, is being handled by Microsoft studio Arkane Lyon – the team formerly behind titles like Dishonored and one-time PS5 console exclusive Deathloop.
Marvel's Blade was one of the most exciting reveals from the Game Awards. Not only is it the first proper video game adaptation of the beloved Marvel character, but it's being made by Arkane Lyon, developers of games like Deathloop and the Dishonored series. That said, the reveal trailer isn't that long, and fans are understandably hungry for more.
Arkane Lyon's studio director Sebastien Mitton has shared three concept artworks for the Deathloop developer's adaptation of Marvel's Blade, a third-person action adventure set in Paris, which was announced last week during the Keighleys. On the surface the artworks give away little, but thankfully, I am a Vampire of News, equipped with supernatural vision and insight. Why not come inside my den and let me regale you with some speculations? Don't worry about the red stains on the carpet, that's just, er, strawberry jam from all the doughnuts I've been eating recently. The red stains on the wall? Yeah, that's blood.
Arkane has released new concept art for Marvel's Blade, and it's only going to make the wait for the game harder.
Marvel's Blade might have started development at the beginning of 2022.
An animated series about Wakanda and its historical heroes is in the works at Marvel.
Very few video game promotional products can actually make graphics better, but the official eyeglasses from Warby Parker can do just that. A tie-in between prescription glasses and a video game release is a different breed of cross-promotion from the norm, as fans usually see products aimed at children, like fast food restaurant toys or limited run cereals. This makes the Warby Parker collaboration stand out, since prescription eyeglasses are extremely practical, and can certainly do more to improve video game graphics than a new television.
Arkane Studios was in attendance at The Game Awards to announce a new project, but no one could have guessed what that announcement would turn out to be. It wasn’t Dishonored 3, or Deathloop 2, and it certainly wasn't a sequel to Redfall. Instead, Arkane announced that they’ve partnered with Marvel to develop a new game centered on everyone’s favorite daywalker, Blade.
