Mortal Kombat 1's addition of Quan Chi seemingly confirms that DLC characters won't be getting any additional skins, as was the case for Omni-Man when he launched.

Antony Starr says he was open to voicing Homelander in Mortal Kombat 1, after it was confirmed that the actor will not be reprising his role for the game's DLC. Responding to a disappointed fan, Starr says, "I was open to it", making his absence in the game all the more baffling.
Some fans speculate that this means it was either a scheduling issue or Warner Bros. wouldn't foot the bill that Starr's team was asking for. Either way, we still don't know who will be playing Homelander in his absence, as NetherRealm hasn't commented on the situation at all.
This comment from Starr was spotted by Reddit user plainviewist, and shows that the actor didn't back out of playing Homelander because he didn't want to be in Mortal Kombat 1. Starr hasn't replied to any other comments on the matter, so it's not clear why exactly he isn't playing the character in the game.
The situation has come as a great disappointment to fans, particularly as the other guest fighters, Omni-Man and Peacemaker, are voiced by their original actors, J.K. Simmons and John Cena respectively. To add insult to injury, Starr did portray Homelander in Call of Duty, so it's not like he's opposed to doing video game work.
There is, of course, the outside chance that Starr is just trolling us here since NertherRealm hasn't confirmed anything. Either that, or he's unable to confirm his involvement right now.
In any case, we can safely assume Homelander will be the last guest fighter added in the first wave of DLC. The gameplay trailer for Quan Chi gave us our first look at Peacemaker at the very end, likely meaning he'll join the fight next. Then, if the current running order continues, we'll probably get a returning Mortal Kombat fighter afterwards, then leaving room for Homelander's addition to the game.
Other than this, we can't really guess which returning fighter will be next, but that's between Takeda and Ermac right now. The latter would make more sense since he's very relevant to the game's story mode, but that doesn't necessarily mean he'll be added before the kombat kid. We'll have to see who gets announced first.
Quan Chi will be added to the game on December 14, so the gap between characters isn't going to be too long. The next Kameo fighter, Khameleon, was also shown off in the Quan Chi trailer, but won't join the game until January.

Like previous entries in the series, Mortal Kombat 1 is rolling out plenty of DLC fighters, with the game’s first “Kombat Pack” including Omni-Man from Invincible, Quan Chi, Peacemaker from Suicide Squad, Ermac, Homelander from The Boys, and Takahashi Takeda.

Mortal Kombat 1 sees the arrival of Quan-Chi later this month, but in the meantime, Invasions Season 3 is now available for all players. Live until February 13th, 2024, Season of the Cryomancer sees an alternate universe Sub-Zero freezing everything in a path for conquest. Check it out below.
Mortal Kombat 1 already has some of the best Fatalities in the series, but it just got a whole lot better thanks to Quan Chi's second grisly finishing move.
Quan-Chi, cross-play, and more this winter.
Quan Chi, the cruel Netherrealm sorcerer and one half of Mortal Kombat’s famous deadly alliance, is now part of the Mortal Kombat 1 roster. He’s available as part of the fighting game’s first Kombat Pack DLC, and is the second post-launch character to join MK1, following Omni-Man.
These days, fighting games live and die based on their online playerbase, and yet, Mortal Kombat 1 did not launch with crossplay support. Thankfully, that will change relatively soon though, as NetherRealm Studios announced in a recent livestream that crossplay between PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PS5 will be coming in early 2024 (perhaps unsurprisingly, the ill-fated Switch version is left out).
During a recent livestream, developer NetherRealm Studios revealed that it is working on releasing cross-play multiplayer for Mortal Kombat 1 in the coming months. While the studio was unable to develop the feature in time for the game’s launch back in September, it has stated that the feature will be coming to the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of Mortal Kombat 1 in February.
Mortal Kombat 1 returnee Quan Chi will make his debut as the second DLC character added to NetherRealm’s latest before Christmas. The former miner was revealed as part of a gameplay trailer overnight, which you can watch above. In it, you’ll see the face-painted baldie unleashing all sorts of misery on a variety of opponents.
