World Second Mythic Fyrakk the Blazing Kill by Team Liquid in Amirdrassil

Team Liquid has claimed the World Second victory over Mythic Fyrakk the Blazing after a grueling 463 pulls, finishing Amirdrassil and concluding their Season 3 Dragonflight race event! Although the tier started out seemingly easy, with the first six bosses taking less than 10 pulls to defeat each, and Smolderon requiring just under 60, Team Liquid experienced a sudden and massive jump up in difficulty upon encountering Tindral Sageswift, which between bugs and tuning would cost them a staggering 435 pulls, cementing it in the top 10 world first pull count bosses of all time. Fyrakk initially seemed like it might be quicker, but the constant bombardment of raid mechanics and instant raid wipes turned it into a long and arduous affair, resulting in a far tighter race than we've seen in recent history. Although Team Liquid got there first, they went back and forth with Echo, setting a series of new best pulls from 9.58% for Echo to 6.51% for Liquid, followed by a 1.79% lead for Echo just barely edged out with a 1.72% wipe by Liquid as their pull counts grew into the four hundreds. Although Echo would secure victory and Liquid suffered a heartbreaking 0.66% wipe, Team Liquid's perseverance in spite of losing first place kept them going long enough to finally take the Incarnate down with a pull count that eclipsed even Tindral's progression. World First Mythic Fyrakk the Blazing Kill by Echo in Amirdrassil

The Amirdrassil Race to World First is finally over! Echo has defeated Mythic Fyrakk the Blazing, finishing the Amirdrassil Race to World First as the Season 3 World Champions of Dragonflight! Congratulations! In a grand finale to Amirdrassil, the exhausting progression against Fyrakk the Blazing took Echo 344 pulls, second only to Tindral Sageswift's staggering 399, both a massive step up in difficulty from the first seven bosses of what almost looked like an easy tier. While the final boss was buffed well before its first pull, progression also saw two nerfs to the encounter, significantly nerfing Colossus health in Phase 2 and reducing Fyrakk's total health by 4% as it began to look like the boss might just be unkillable. Fyrakk also proved to be an epic back and forth over five days of progression, and one of the closest races we've seen in recent history. Picking up an early lead at 9.58% boss health remaining, Echo raided until exhaustion finally overtook them in the early morning hours of the 12th day of the race, waking to find Team Liquid once again in the lead with a 6.51% wipe, yet the Incarnate remained undefeated, and Echo regained the lead for a few hours after a 1.79% wipe before Liquid again pulled ahead with a scant 1.72% remaining. As their pull counts grew into the three hundreds, it looked like anyone's game as both guilds were just one good pull away from victory, before Echo finally found the last bit of skillful execution needed to bring Fyrakk down once and for all. Amirdrassil Race to World First Day 10 Recap - Fyrakk Nerfs, Phase 3, "Going Dark"

We're close to reaching critical mass in the Race to World First! Throughout the race, Dratnos & Tettles will be providing Daily Recaps of the events of each day — today's video focuses on Fyrakk nerfs, the concept of guilds «Going Dark» during the race, and more.Looking for livestreams, guilds to watch, and analytics to dive into? Check out the Wowhead RWF Coverage Article for the latest lists of streamers, raid coverage, and boss guies. Today's RWF Recap starts with a quick look at the nerf Fyrakk received earlier today — 12% health taken off of the Phase 2 colossi, which were a massive pain point that were almost impossible to consistently beat, requiring 4 million DPS (between the two targets) to kill before they exploded. Now they «only» require 3.5 million DPS, which is still a massive check but is something that RWF guilds will be able to make a bit more consistent. Fyrakk's 3rd phase has been reached, technically first by Echo for a few seconds, and then more substantially by Liquid who saw the first overlaps of the phase and helped us learn a bit more about how the phase works. Echo, after reaching Phase 3, did «go dark» and turn off their streams and hide their progression details, as Liquid had done the day before. Dratnos and Tettles explain how this strategy makes sense for guilds that are in the lead, seeing a new phase, and about to go to bed, as they don't want to provide free information for their competition at a time when they're about to go to sleep and won't be able to make use of it themselves. Dratnos and Tettles agree this is a bit sad for the viewing experience but it's understandable and is a product of Liquid and Echo being so close to each other, which is in itself a great thing for the race!

Amirdrassil Race to World First Day 9 Recap - Fyrakk Tuning, Private Auras, Will We Hit Reset 3?

Things are heating up in the Race to World First! Throughout the race, Dratnos & Tettles will be providing Daily Recaps of the events of each day — today's video focuses on Fyrakk's tuning, how Private Auras are being used in the fight, and more.Looking for livestreams, guilds to watch, and analytics to dive into? Check out the Wowhead RWF Coverage Article for the latest lists of streamers, raid coverage, and boss guies. Fyrakk is under attack! In today's RWF Recap, Dratnos and Tettles go over the fight's Mythic differences! If you want to read some more about these changes, check out these first looks at Fyrakk's first phase and intermission: Liquid on Fyrakk: First Look at Phase 1 Liquid on Fyrakk: First Look at First Intermission The fight's tuning looks quite formidable, with both Echo and Liquid struggling to even consistently get out of Phase 1, though Liquid has made it substantially deeper into Phase 2 as of the time of the video's recording, while also having several more raid hours in their day while Echo have already gone to bed. It's likely Echo will wake up to Liquid being quite far ahead, but with the difficulty of Tindral, it's possible this race will continue for several more days and potentially even threaten to enter the third reset (a topic which will be covered tomorrow if the possibility increases!) Private Auras on Fyrakk are another topic of discussion in today's video, as they once again appear in the intermission, causing the guilds to program Macros to communicate with WeakAuras which then accomplish the same thing that they'd do if the mechanics weren't Private Auras. Dratnos and Tettles' position on this remains unchanged from Smolderon — they applaud the effort to get rid of mechanics being handled entirely by WeakAuras, but are skeptical that Private Auras are the solution, especially with the current Macro solutions that most players don't seem to enjoy using.

Amirdrassil Race to World First Day 8 Recap - Echo & Liquid Progress Fyrakk, Who Will Win Predictions

The Amirdrassil Race to World First is in its second week — and we're seeing Fyrakk progression! Throughout the race, Dratnos & Tettles will be providing Daily Recaps of the events of each day — today's video focuses on Echo defeating Tindral Sageswift and reaching Fyrakk, predictions on the RWF winners, and more.Looking for livestreams, guilds to watch, and analytics to dive into? Check out the Wowhead RWF Coverage Article for the latest lists of streamers, raid coverage, and boss guies. Echo have finally killed Tindral Sageswift, ending their day after Dratnos and Tettles would normally record their recap video and forcing it to be cut a little shorter than usual! This means we'll be featuring full discussion of Fyrakk's Mythic changes on tomorrow's video, with today's focusing instead on the dynamics of the race. Liquid were able to smash through their reclear and engage Tindral, encountering a nasty set of overlaps at the end of the fight but powering through after several deep pulls that they were able to string together. Echo, on the other hand, needed a bit more time at the end of their day to put all the pieces together. After Liquid's Tindral, they still had some gas in the tank for some off-stream Fyrakk, while Echo had no need or desire to do the same since by the time Tindral was down, Liquid was already streaming Fyrakk. Dratnos has updated his prediction back to 70/30 in favor of Liquid this tier, though he notes that with Liquid's stream, Echo may be able to catch back up tomorrow and, with good play, potentially even overtake by the end of the raid day or the start of the next one. How much opportunity they'll have to convert that into a win will depend on how many pulls Fyrakk's final phases take, plus whether or not there's a Mythic-only phase (if there isn't, Dragonflight will be the first expansion to not have one in the modern era).

World Second Mythic Tindral Sageswift Kill by Echo in Amirdrassil

Echo has achieved world second Tindral Sageswift after 399 pulls, bringing them to Fyrakk and closing in on Liquid as we near the end of the Amirdrassil race to world first! Congratulations! As mentioned previously, Tindral has been an epic slog of an encounter, with both guilds taking around 400 pulls to defeat and cementing it within the top 10 of highest pull count bosses. Fyrakk doesn't seem much easier though, as although it appears to be devoid of major progression blocking bugs so far, it features an intense onslaught of rapid fire mechanics with very little breathing room or room for error. Time will tell who pulls out ahead, as this race heats up! Mythic Amirdrassil Race to World First Coverage

World First Mythic Tindral Sageswift Kill by Liquid in Amirdrassil

At long last, Team Liquid has defeated Mythic Tindral Sageswift, paving their way towards Fryakk and the end of the Amirdrassil Race to World First! Congratulations! Tindral has been an epic slog, requiring 435 pulls to defeat, surpassing Blackhand (325), Jaina Proudmoore (346), Halondrus (357), and Queen Azshara (359), though not quite reaching Fallen Avatar's 453. Not bad for a penultimate boss! We'll soon find out what kind of a challenge Fyrakk the Blazing will put up, and whether Tindral's difficulty were a fluke or just a stepping stone to the real challenge! Amirdrassil Race to World First Day 7 Recap - Weekly Reset, T-Swift Difficulty, Fyrakk on the Horizon

The Amirdrassil Race to World First has begun its second week! Throughout the race, Dratnos & Tettles will be providing Daily Recaps of the events of each day — today's video focuses on the weekly reset, Fyrakk on the horizon, and more.Looking for livestreams, guilds to watch, and analytics to dive into? Check out the Wowhead RWF Coverage Article for the latest lists of streamers, raid coverage, and boss guies. Today's RWF Recap video focuses on the weekly reset, which has hit Liquid already and will hit Echo once they wake up in a few hours! Liquid have made short work of their reclear and have gotten back to Tindral, with Echo and other RWF guilds expected to also face low resistance from the first 7 bosses on reclear due to their increased item level and the fact that the most difficult among those fights, Smolderon, is massively easier for guilds that have already killed it once they get more gear and can now kill again on a much less clean pull. Tindral, on the other hand, will not be trivialized by an extra reset of gear — though it will be easier than it was last reset! Primarily, this will be because of extra Stamina (which is maybe cancelled out by the removal of Vantus Runes), and extra damage on the roots allowing them to be broken faster and lowering the difficulty of some of the worst mechanical overlaps. This is certainly something but the primary pain points of the fight will remain brutally difficult, and we may well see Tindral crest the 500 pull count and join a very small set of end bosses in that tier. Fyrakk remains a huge question mark, with behind the scenes tuning landing to several abilities over the past week. We'll have to see what it looks like once the guilds actually reach it, but the numbers on some of the abilities are definitely daunting and may even mean we could see the race enter a 3rd reset if guilds can't get to Fyrakk early in this reset to get that progression started!

Amirdrassil Race to World First Day 6 Recap - Tindral Still Alive, Boss Comparisons, Difficulty

The Amirdrassil Race to World First has reached the end of its first week! Throughout the race, Dratnos & Tettles will be providing Daily Recaps of the events of each day — today's video focuses on Tindral Sageswift's continued longevity, penultimate boss comparisons, and more.Looking for livestreams, guilds to watch, and analytics to dive into? Check out the Wowhead RWF Coverage Article for the latest lists of streamers, raid coverage, and boss guies. Tindral Sageswift remains alive and well, cementing this race as a 2 reset affair! In today's RWF Recap, Dratnos and Tettles discuss the incredible difficulty of this boss and compare it to previous bosses of similar difficulty like Halondrus, as well as other penultimate bosses like Stone Legion Generals, Rygelon, and Fallen Avatar. Fallen Avatar holds the crown for pull counts in the modern era, but Tindral is hot on its heels and with a hundred or so more pulls could take the record. Further nerfs to the boss could of course interfere with that, but Dratnos and Tettles expect that those nerfs won't come until after Liquid and Echo have killed the boss. Though Tindral is certainly a difficulty outlier, it's unclear if that's a bad thing, as the majority of the players fighting the boss are having a good time. Bosses that are brutally difficult and unfun, like Stone Legion Generals, are certainly a problem, but when they're hard AND fun it's great! The difficulty, of course, needs to be carefully tweaked over the coming months to ensure that it's killable for the guilds reaching it later, to avoid the problems of the first few months of Seplucher which killed several guilds. The reset is now looming! Soon, RWF raiders will have to make sure they've completed their chores, like filling out their M+ Great Vault rows with +20s if possible, and completing the Campaign to earn another Enchanted Wyrm's Dreaming Crest for the Spark of Dreams that unlocks on the reset. Echo have also been pulling their sleep schedule backwards to enable the 5am start on Wednesday.
