Starfield is finally here in its non-'advance access' form and its players are already hard at work. Not hard at work exploring the galaxy or cataloguing the flora and fauna of distant alien worlds, mind you. No, they're hard at work doing the truly important stuff: making celebrities in its character creator before sending them to die in the chilly void of space. Per aspera ad astra.

Starfield has finally launched, available on Steam and Xbox Series X|S. It is also on Game Pass.

It turns out you can pinch one of Starfield's better suits without picking locks. Not only that, you can actually get it quite near the start of the game.

No one should have to go too long without new Star Trek, and thankfully Paramount agrees: A month after Strange New Worlds wrapped up season 2, Star Trek: Lower Decks is back with its fourth season to bring some wacky fun to the Federation (which, the rest of the Star Trek universe aside, the Federation could sorely use; they can get a bit self-serious).

There's so much more to running a starship than simply making it so on the bridge. Like its namesake The Next Generation episode, Star Trek: Lower Decks shifts the focus away from the Picards, Siskos, and Janeways of this world to concentrate on the junior officers who are more traditionally background players – or even phaser fodder – in other branches of the Star Trek universe. 

Starfield fans are wasting no time bringing some of the sci-fi genre’s oldest and most beloved ships to Bethesda’s new space RPG. 

Even as someone who loves the Fallout games, I must admit that spending dozens of hours in an irradiated wasteland full of ghouls and raiders can be a little, well, depressing. It’s not the kind of world that evokes a sense of adventure. That’s what made the potential of Starfield so exciting: here was Bethesda applying its formula for open-world RPGs to a giant universe with planets to discover and cosmic mysteries to unearth. It’s basically the Elder Scrolls by way of Hello Games; call it No Man’s Skyrim.

As one of the biggest games of the year, Starfield is expected to be packed with top voice acting talent and interesting characters to keep you entertained for days on end. How much of Hollywood is involved though, if any?
