Gearbox co-founder and Borderlands creator Randy Pitchford revealed a new SHiFT code that gives players three free Skeleton Keys in multiple games, including Borderlands 3 and Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. Like previous SHiFT code drops, players have a limited window to redeem the code and claim their Skeleton Keys in Borderlands 3 and the other Borderlands entries that are still supported.

Blackbird Interactive and publisher Gearbox revealed 2024 roadmap on Wednesday. In addition to multiple free content drops, the roadmap reveals three paid DLCs that are introducing new factions to the sci-fi RTS.

Gearbox Entertainment has been hit with a wave of layoffs, mere hours after the game development company announced its pending acquisition by Take-Two Interactive. After recent rumors that the company was potentially up for sale, it was confirmed on March 27 that Embracer Group will be selling Gearbox for $460 million. This comes after nearly a year of the Swedish media conglomerate divesting itself, through sale or closure, of multiple subsidiaries to increase cash flow.

2K has said that the next Borderlands game is in active development at Gearbox.
