We all knew that Starfield would have a packed Nexus Mods page in its first week of release, but the dedication of the playerbase is still awe-inspiring. We're only on day three of its early access period and there are already 334 mods uploaded to Nexus at the time of writing. 124 of which were shared today. So, it's no surprise that some of them already centre around the main man himself, the one and only: Todd Howard.
Even as we're three days away from Starfield's proper launch, you can already deck Starfield out with Todd Howard's face pretty much everywhere. Whether he's greeting you as you boot up the game, or lighting the path for you in the dark, Howard is there. And it's always that one picture of him, because of course it is.

To create the perfect living shrine to Howard, look no further than these three mods I've already managed to find on Nexus. First up, there's Todd Howard Logo And Splash Screen from user Stargazer which, as the name suggests, replaces boot-up logos with the iconic Bethesda game director himself.
"This is a simple mod to replace your game's logos and splash screen with a couple [of] Todd Howard photos," says Stargazer. "I wanted to carry forward the tradition of one of the first mods being available being that which will change our brand new game into the man the myth the legend himself."
It already has more than 100 downloads, so there's a fair amount of fans eager to see Howard's face every time they boot up Starfield.
Then, we have one that's ever so slightly less immersion-breaking - Todd Howard Painting Replacer by ronaldomoon. This creates an in-game tribute to Howard in the Constellation Lodge. Admittedly, it does replace every painting with the tribute, so it's hardly canon-compliant. Unless Todd Howard is also a game developer with a cult-like following in the Starfield universe too.
Lastly, we have my personal favourite, Todd Howard Flashlight Replacer. Turning Howard into your light in the darkness, the famous snap of the game dev follows you everywhere, or at least whenever you whip your flashlight out. Sure, it might take you out of the story if you forget you have it installed and then whip it out hours later, but that's on you.
We can expect more dedication to Todd Howard to fill modding sites in the coming weeks. Bethesda fans have to wait a while for new games after all, so this dedication comes in handy. The PC version of the game is also facing complaints over its optimisation, meaning many will be flocking to Nexus Mods for performance fixes anyway. Why not show these devoted shitposters some love while you're there?
