Bethesda plan official Starfield mod support for release in 2024

A series of Starfield live-action shorts are on the way to help you get to grips with the Settled Systems, and we’ve got our first look at the incredible set design already. Helmed by videogame short filmmaker Stephen Ford, the live-action series of shorts will help you learn even more about Bethesda’s newest universe.

Just about everyone who’s gamed at one point in their lives can recall a catchy tune or a memorable music video that they’ve seen either in-game or on the web. Browsing YouTube will show you how popular and nostalgic many gaming tracks are, dating all the way back to the NES and Master System. It’s always a great way to begin or end your day with a certain song from a game you love playing in your ear.

Given how Starfield cozied up to AMD, those who don’t use Team Red’s hardware may have had concerns about how optimized the game would be on Nvidia’s tech. Fortunately, when it comes to upscaling at least, Bethesda is launching official DLSS support. But until then, the mod community is coming to the rescue.

Starfield is a massive open world that is itching to be explored, but a lack of maps, especially for its established cities, can make it a pain to navigate. No such headache is more prominent than in New Atlantis, previously confirmed to be the biggest city Bethesda Game Studios has ever made. But if you're getting lost venturing New Atlantis, there's a mod that finally adds a map into the city.

It looks like The Elder Scrolls 6 won't be releasing until 2026 at the very earliest, and our PlayStation pals are likely going to be missing out entirely.

There's now a Starfield mod that lets you swap the game's best yet ugliest armor for some Star Wars-themed space gear. 

Bethesda confirmed Starfield's built-in mod support is in the works and will be released early next year. 

Bethesda has issued a hotfix for Starfield and is taking the opportunity to respond to feedback from the community on features in the works, including wider mod support.

Starfield was easily one of the most anticipated video games released this year. Bethesda’s latest RPG is now available for those on PC or Xbox Series X/S platforms. So now that fans have been enjoying the game for a while, Bethesda is bringing out the first hotfix for the title with promises of more extensive updates planned. Meanwhile, it’s also once again confirmed that mod support will arrive in Starfield. But don’t expect it to be available anytime this year. Instead, you can expect mods to land sometime in 2024.

You may have heard about a little space game called Starfield, the gravitational pull from which risks swallowing all games discourse for months and possibly years to come. Perhaps that's no surprise for a game that's been in development and hyped for as long as any title that I can remember (well, ones that have shipped anyway) but it's easy to forget now the thing's in our hands that it was subject to multiple delays along the way.

Starfield's jogging speed can appear to be a little fast but thankfully if you're finding it to be an issue a few players have already created some mods to help.
