Bethesda Fixes Starfield Stability Issues, Plans Built-In Mod Support on All Platforms, and Other Features

A new Cyberpunk 2077 Cyberware mod has been released for the new 2.0 update and Phantom Liberty expansion, adding cyberware slots and more.

Phantom Liberty and the 2.0 overhaul are the last «big updates» to Cyberpunk 2077, but that doesn't mean CD Projekt is quite finished with it. The studio announced today that the 2.01 update is in the works, with fixes for a number of big issues still plaguing the game.

A group of 17 authors, including Game of Thrones novelist George R.R. Martin, have filed a class action lawsuit against ChatGPT-maker OpenAI on behalf of fiction writers who believe that their work was used to train the generative AI chatbot.

Capcom began its Online Program at Tokyo Game Show 2023 with new gameplay and details for Dragon’s Dogma 2. Director Hideaki Itsuno talked about the four starting Vocations and various features players could expect from the action RPG. There are two regions to explore: Vermind, ruled by Arisen, who slayed the Dragon, and Battahl, a city built on ancient ruins and ruled by Beastmen.

When many high-profile video games are released within a given year, there will almost always be comparisons between them so long as they fit a general mold. For example, certain kinds of sports games will be compared to one another, or if there are a ton of first-person shooters coming out at once, they’ll be compared to one another, and so on. In 2023, multiple RPGs came out, two of which were Baldur’s Gate 3 and Starfield. While fundamentally different on many levels, some have taken the time to go and compare the two and insult one of the dev teams.

A Larian Studios head has come to Bethesda's defence following an unfavourable comparison between Baldur's Gate 3 and Starfield. In response to the criticism, Larian's director of publishing Michael Douse says it's "not true or right" to say that Bethesda devs lacked passion for Starfield, as others highlight that the game's review scores fall below Baldur's Gate 3's.

Bethesda confirmed Starfield's built-in mod support is in the works and will be released early next year. 

Bethesda has released the first hotfix for Starfield that will take on «a few top issues» with the game, including potential quest blockers and stability and performance issues.

Starfield’s first update since launch has finally been released. While it doesn’t pack in a lot of actual fixes for the game, acting more as an interim hotfix ahead of a much larger game update, Bethesda does outline some promises for upcoming changes that players have been asking about.

Starfield was easily one of the most anticipated video games released this year. Bethesda’s latest RPG is now available for those on PC or Xbox Series X/S platforms. So now that fans have been enjoying the game for a while, Bethesda is bringing out the first hotfix for the title with promises of more extensive updates planned. Meanwhile, it’s also once again confirmed that mod support will arrive in Starfield. But don’t expect it to be available anytime this year. Instead, you can expect mods to land sometime in 2024.
