Spooky Fishing Adventure Dredge Gets Boat Customisation in Latest Free Update | Push Square

Dredge is easily one of my favourite games of 2023—and considering how many bangers have released this year, that's a pretty big deal. Its sinister blend of fishing and Eldritch horror had me hooked, and next month I'll be able to experience even more thanks to its Pale Reach DLC.

Indie studio Black Salt Games has announced the first expansion for horror-themed fishing title Dredge. Titled The Pale Reach, the expansion is slated to arrive on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC on November 16, and will be priced at $5.99. Dredge, a horror fishing game that has no right to be as good as it is, is getting its first expansion on November 16. The Pale Reach update will add an icy biome for daring fishermen to explore, a bunch of new fish to catch, and quality of life updates.

It has dredged up a release date.

Just a week after announcing it was delaying fishing horror Dredge's first paid expansion, The Iron Rig, into 2024, developer Black Salt Games has unveiled an entirely different paid expansion, The Pale Reach, which arrives on 16th November.

To get the scariest month started off right, Capcom has revealed the Spooky Party Fighting Pass for Street Fighter 6, with free and premium unlocks for prospective pugilists to dress their avatars up in. The event kicks off nice and early (today) with some supposedly scary skins, Fighter Coins, and photo frames to unlock.

Disney Speedstorm is a solid mascot racer full of iconic characters from the legendary House of Mouse, like Stitch and Mulan. It's now switched to a free-to-play model, so if you were on the fence, there's no reason not to get whisked away to a whole new world of kart racing.

Lies of P is a Souls-like in the tradition of FromSoftware's greats, but one which has carved out a place of its own with an impressive commercial showing (we thought it was great, too). This subgenre is infamous for the exacting nature of its difficulty, but things have actually been dialled back quite substantially in the game's most recent revision.

While there’s still some debate over just how real the reveal trailer for Phantom Blade Zero was during a recent State of Play livestream, its prequel is already almost here. Due out on 2nd November on PS5 and PS4, as well as various mobile devices and PC, the side-scrolling Phantom Blade: Executioners will get the story started – and will be free-to-play. Stardew Valley creator Eric «ConcernedApe» Barone has given fans something tangible to look forward to, with an outline of what the eagerly anticipated 1.6 update entails. While there is still sadly no release date, it has some pretty cool stuff to look forward to, and it's not like the life-consuming farm management sim really needed to be more fully featured.

Dredge was one of this year’s more surprising gems, an unexpectedly winning combination of spooky Lovecraftian atmosphere, open-world exploration and compelling fishing sim that lay somewhere on the ocean-wide spectrum between the chill management of Stardew Valley and the existential dread of Sunless Sea.
