With over seven million copies sold and ranking as the second-highest concurrently played game in Steam history, the Palworld juggernaut continues to roll on. According to analyst and Circana executive director Mat Piscatella, the survival crafting title surpassed Fortnite in daily active users on Xbox Series X/S in the United States on January 22nd.
He also revealed that Xbox Series X/S players notched up over 200 minutes of playtime, about three hours and 20 minutes, which is astounding. Palworld launched on January 19th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC, but is also available on Game Pass. Subscribers likely contributed to those player numbers, which is still impressive since Fortnite is a free-to-play title.
As for the future, Pocketpair is focused on addressing various problems and bugs while improving Pal AI and pathing at the player’s base. It’s also looking to add raid bosses as end-game content, PvP, building improvements and cross-play support. Stay tuned for updates, and check out our review in the meantime.
According to Circana's Player Engagement Tracker, on January 22nd Palworld surpassed Fortnite in US XBS DAU. On that day alone, Palworld players on XBS in the US played Palworld for more than 200 minutes, on average. Bonkers numbers.
