There's no stopping to Pocketpair's hit title as Palworld is currently the most popular game on Xbox Game Pass.
The 'Pokemon with Guns' title already broke various concurrent player records and is currently the most popular title on Steam. Since the game's early-access release last week more than 8 million copies of the title have been sold through Steam alone. Not only that, but As spotted by The Verge's Tom Warren, Pocketpair's game is now also the most popular game on Xbox Game Pass, thereby beating titles such as Minecraft, Assassin's Creed Valhalla, UFC4, Resident Evil 4, Starfield, and other high-profile games. Quite the feat for sure, and it will be interesting to see how the game's player numbers and sales will evolve.

Palworld is available through early access on Steam and Xbox Game Pass now. As covered yesterday, given the game's popularity, The Pokemon Company has issued a statement saying that it is investigating the game following concerns about copyright infringement. "We have received many inquiries regarding another company’s game released in January 2024", the official statement reads. We have not granted any permission for the use of Pokémon intellectual property or assets in that game. We intend to investigate and take appropriate measures to address any acts that infringe on intellectual property rights related to the Pokémon. We will continue to cherish and nurture each and every Pokémon and its world, and work to bring the world together through Pokémon in the future."
