Payday 3's «Operation Medic Bag» patch is now available.

After teasing an upcoming chapter inspired by Dungeons & Dragons, Dead by Daylight has revealed its next killer pulled from the pages of the fantasy pen-and-paper RPG: Vecna, long-running mega-baddie and inspiration for the Stranger Things villain. He’ll be voiced by Critical Role dungeon master Matthew Mercer and haunt a new dungeon map, where you’ll be able to do battle as new elf and bard survivors able to roll a literal d20 when they crack open treasure chests.

Starbreeze has announced today that its CFO Mats Juhl will be appointed as its new interim CEO.

Having brought the likes of Resident Evil’s Nemesis, Silent Hill’s Pyramid Head, Stranger Things' Demogorgon and Alien’s Xenomorph to its one-versus-many game of deadly hide-and-seek, Dead by Daylight is digging back into the vaults for its next classic killer. This time, it’s not horror video games or scary movies serving as inspiration for DBD’s next chapter, but 50-year-old tabletop fantasy RPG Dungeons & Dragons.

The next update for Payday 3 will finally add quickplay and player merging to the game, developer Starbreeze Studios announced seven months after the troubled shooter was released. The previous update, 1.1.1, for the Deep Silver-published game introduced more than 300 bug fixes, a new hardcore challenge, and improved gameplay performance.

Six month's after Payday 3's disastrous launch, Starbreeze have parted ways with their CEO, Tobias Sjögren. In an update to investors, Starbreeze's board said that the company now requires "different leadership", and they've appointed former CEO of Focus Home Interactive Juergen Goeldner as interim CEO.

Following the disastrous launch of Payday 3, Starbreeze Studios' CEO Tobias Sjögren is resigning from the company. Sjögren led the studio for three years, overseeing the development of Payday 3 and the ongoing live-service support of Payday 2, which remains one of the most active multiplayer games on Steam.

In a new report from GameDeveloper, the CEO of Starbreeze Studios Tobias Sjögren is no longer with the company. This follows the unsatisfactory release of Payday 3 last September.

Following the underwhelming performance of Payday 3, Starbreeze’s Board of Directors has replaced CEO Tobias Sjögren. Board member Juergen Goeldner will act as interim CEO while the company searches for a permanent replacement. Sjögren is still available during the transition, though.

Payday 3 received its first new features this past week as part of Operation Medic Bag, Starbreeze's efforts to turnaround the fortunes of their bleeding-out bank robbery 'em up. The patch contains 300 fixes alongside support for various Nvidia graphics technology, UI improvements, and more.

Payday 3 has released update 1.1.1, aimed at addressing numerous bugs, introducing a new Challenge Reward, improving the overall gameplay, and more. This update is part of «Operation Medic Bag,» a step forward that the Payday 3 developer is taking to improve the game following its rocky launch.

Starbreeze Studios has released the first update for Payday 3’s “Operation Medic Bag,” aimed at improving the experience and fixing various issues. It contains roughly 300 bug fixes and improvements, including support for Nvidia DLSS Super Resolution (v3.5), DLAA (v3.5) and DirectX 12 for PC players.

Behaviour Interactive has announced its latest Dead by Daylight collaboration, and it's none other than heavy metal band Iron Maiden.

Payday 3 will finally be getting an offline mode — although we don't know exactly when.

Starbreeze Studios has confirmed that Payday 3 is still not meeting expectations. The latest entry into the long-running co-op heist shooter franchise was released in September 2023, but Payday 3 quickly suffered a decline in player numbers thanks to a myriad of bugs and glitches found within the game.

Developer Starbreeze Studios and publisher Deep Silver have announced a new initiative to respond to community feedback for co-op shooter Payday 3. The initiative, dubbed Operation Medic Bag, involves a team within the studio having reviewed and revisited all aspects of Payday 3, and reprioritising development pipeline for upcoming updates.

Payday 3 developer Starbreeze say their co-op heist 'em up is underperforming both in terms of sales and player numbers. They also say they're committed to turning around that performance, with updates to come in 2024 which will revamp progression, the UI, add a solo mode and an offline mode, and more.

Payday 2 was a huge success for Starbreeze, to say the very least, but its sequel has got off to the worst possible start- or, well, close enough, at any rate. Launching with significant issues, the game was roundly criticized by critics and players upon release, and though it attracted a sizeable playerbase initially, it didn’t take long for interest to taper off, with Embracer Group – parent company of Payday 3 publisher Plaion – confirming that the game had failed to meet expectations.

Following a rocky launch, Payday 3 developer Starbreeze said its sales and player activity are «currently at significantly lower levels than [it] would like». However, the studio hopes to turn this around in the future, stating it will focus efforts «to ensure that the game lives up to expectations» for players.

Four months after the troubled launch of Payday 3, developers Starbreeze have announced they've formed a "strike team of veteran developers" with the goal of bringing it "up to where it will meet your expectations". The cooperative heist FPS got off to a right bumpy start when the ever-unpopular decision to only be playable if you're online collided with server issues that saw Starbreeze take the game down for a while. Since then, it has failed to rise above 'Mixed' review rating on Steam, not helped by Starbreeze releasing a £15 DLC pack when many players were unhappy with the game they'd just bought for £35.

Swedish developer Starbreeze Studios, the team behind the poorly received shooter Payday 3, has addressed the negative feedback the title has received, revealing in a new blog post the current progress of its efforts to improve the game. In addition, the company told fans it will reveal more details on how it plans to course-correct in the near future.

Even with Legacy Heists, bug fixes, balance changes and quality-of-life improvements, Payday 3’s player numbers are nowhere near its predecessor. The team at Starbreeze Studios recognizes this and revealed its plans for the future in a new Steam post.

It’s out in Winter 2023 and set after the events of Touch the Sky, with Shade discovering valuable software for a new drone OS. Payday devs Starbreeze are working on a co-op multiplayer game based on storied tabletop RPG Dungeons & Dragons. It’ll be out in 2026, and Starbreeze are being upfront with the fact it’ll be a games-as-a-service-type game.

Starbreeze Entertainment has announced Project Baxter, a new game based on the Dungeons & Dragons intellectual property from Wizards of the Coast. It will launch in 2026 with cross-play for “all major platforms,” and is both published and developed by Starbreeze Entertainment.

Embracer co-founder and CEO Lars Wingefors has confirmed 900 employees were laid off in the past financial quarter, representing five percent of the workforce.

To say that Payday 3 didn’t get off to the best start would be a bit of an understatement. The long-awaited co-op shooter launched in September to widespread criticism from critics and audiences alike, catching flak for everything from its progression mechanics and lack of content to connectivity issues and more. That, unsurprisingly, has seen the game performing worse than Embracer Group – parent company of publisher Deep Silver – would have expected, in spite of having managed to attract 3.1 million players in September.

Payday 3’s first free content update has been announced, adding reimagined versions of two Legacy Heists – Cook Off (featuring the return of Locke) and Murky Station, both from Payday 2. It also adds new first-person animations for interactions and a new Skill Line, “Transporter,” which allows for carrying two bags instead of one.

After multiple delays, Starbreeze Studios’ Payday 3 has finally received its first patch with bug fixes and quality-of-life changes. It provides items available on pre-order and specific to Editions for all players while updating aim assist for PS5. Crashes that occurred when answering a radio, vaulting before the heist ends and from multiple explosions have also been fixed.

Payday 3's launch was rough, with long queues awaiting would-be heisters in the always-online game, and issues with progression and absent systems awaiting those who could login. Starbreeze Studios have now begun the process of making good on promised fixes to those criticisms, with patch 1.0.1 live now. It mostly includes "minor fixes", but lots of them.

Payday 3 hasn't exactly had the smoothest of launches; matchmaking issues, online-only requirements, and a hugely unpopular challenge-focused progression system immediately soured its arrival for players back in September, and a highly anticipated first patch promising «200+» quality of life improvements has been repeatedly delayed. Finally though, after much waiting, the heist-shooter's 1.01 update is here on all platforms.

While Payday 3 players continue to wait for the first major patch, which has gone for testing and certification, Starbreeze Studios is working to address feedback. The progression system has been a pain point since Challenges are the only way to earn Infamy Points.

Roguelite first-person shooter Roboquest will leave Early Access and Game Preview and launch for Xbox Series, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store on November 7 for $24.99, publisher Starbreeze Studios and developer RyseUp Studios announced.

To say that Payday 3, Starbreeze’s long-awaited follow-up in the heist shooter series, had problems would be an understatement. Matchmaking issues, lackluster solo play that’s always online, the list goes on (check out our review for more details). Nevertheless, it has proven popular. The publisher announced 3,167,938 unique players for September 2023.

Starbreeze Studios’ Payday 3 was released on September 21st for Standard Edition owners after a short early access period and faced several issues. Matchmaking errors meant the game was unavailable for most players, and it doesn’t help that even solo play isn’t possible without being connected online.

The wait for Payday 3 has been a long one, but Starbreeze Studios’ co-op heist shooter is finally just a couple of weeks away from launch. And before it releases, players are going to have the opportunity to dip their toes in the water to see what the game will have on offer- well, on some platforms at least.

Starbreeze Studios’ Payday 3 is out next month, and while it offers eight unique heists at launch, a revamped Skill system, new mechanics and more, fans are also looking forward to post-launch. Payday 2 was supported for ten years, with a burgeoning community still playing.

There's always that one last job you get called in to tie up some loose ends, rekindling greed and the drive to plan elaborate robbery schemes within you. With the old gang rounded up, Payday 3 now takes us to the bustling streets of New York City, several years after our reign of terror in Washington DC, masked-up and prepared for new challenges in a present-day environment of mass surveillance gadgets, cryptocurrency, the deep web, and more. Having spent a few hours in the internal playtest, followed by the ongoing closed beta, I must say that I'm truly impressed with how streamlined this sequel is shaping up to be.

Starbreeze continues to outline some new features coming to Payday 3, with a recent Dev Diary discussing art and animation. While the team talks about key-framing reload animations and motion-capturing deaths, the micro destructions are perhaps the most interesting addition.
