It’s not been a great launch for Payday 3. As well as experiencing issues with matchmaking, the new entry in the bank-robbing FPS has also had its first major patch delayed. Now, the developer has issued yet another apology, saying that the anticipated update needs “additional time.”
Over on Twitter, the official Payday 3 account apologized to fans for the “lack of communication regarding the first patch.”. Starbreeze Studios says it’s found more issues to rectify before the patch launches.
Heisters, we’re sorry for the lack of communication regarding the first patch. We have identified some issues that need to be fixed before we can bring it to you, but rest assured that this is the main priority for our teams. https://t.co/IBDPctk0ce
An additional post underneath notes due to the additional time needed to tend to the game, the studio can’t provide an ETA on when fixes will launch just yet. A third tweet adds a suffix to this apology, saying that both the patch and some more news are inbound. We just don’t know when.
While the studio did do some maintenance to make Payday 3‘s matchmaking better, one of the major criticisms with the game is the always-online feature. This means that even if you want to play a solo campaign, you’re still required to connect to the server.
However, there is a possibility that an offline mode could come to the game. In a previous post on Twitter/X, the team said that, because of server issues at launch, “we are discussing every option available to us, including offline mode.”
Hopefully, Payday 3 will eventually become the game fans want it to be. At the moment, it has a “Mixed” review score on Steam, with more than a few unhappy customers. Starbreeze has a chance to turn things around, though.
The long-awaited patch fixes a lot of bugs in Payday 3, but there's more still to be done.
After multiple delays, Starbreeze Studios’ Payday 3 has finally received its first patch with bug fixes and quality-of-life changes. It provides items available on pre-order and specific to Editions for all players while updating aim assist for PS5. Crashes that occurred when answering a radio, vaulting before the heist ends and from multiple explosions have also been fixed.
Payday 3's launch was rough, with long queues awaiting would-be heisters in the always-online game, and issues with progression and absent systems awaiting those who could login. Starbreeze Studios have now begun the process of making good on promised fixes to those criticisms, with patch 1.0.1 live now. It mostly includes "minor fixes", but lots of them.
Payday 3 hasn't exactly had the smoothest of launches; matchmaking issues, online-only requirements, and a hugely unpopular challenge-focused progression system immediately soured its arrival for players back in September, and a highly anticipated first patch promising «200+» quality of life improvements has been repeatedly delayed. Finally though, after much waiting, the heist-shooter's 1.01 update is here on all platforms.
Fntastic, the developers behind The Day Before, has announced via a statement on Twitter that the game has received yet another delay and will now release next month on December 7. Although this does suggest that the game everyone has anticipated to simply not exist may finally see the light of day, there’s still a slight hesitance from players.
Dungeons & Dragons has a new book coming out—but you'll have to wait a while longer for the physical copy. The release of The Deck of Many Things core rulebook has been delayed thanks to a streak of bad luck (or poor manufacturing, depending on how charitable you're willing to be). On October 28, the official D&D Twitter account made the following post:
Gangs of Sherwood, the co-op PvE game inspired by the English folk hero but set in a gritty neo-medieval future closer to the grimdark world of Warhammer, has seen its release date pushed back by almost a month.
While Payday 3 players continue to wait for the first major patch, which has gone for testing and certification, Starbreeze Studios is working to address feedback. The progression system has been a pain point since Challenges are the only way to earn Infamy Points.
The first post-launch patch for Starbreeze’s controversial Payday 3 still doesn’t have a release date after multiple delays. However, a new official post is available and shines a light on what’s happening.
Mortal Kombat started its Halloween event with a Pit-themed Johnny Cage mansion, but the bulk of it was expected to be in Invasions' second season given that it's all about Nitara and bloodthirsty multiversal vampires. 'Tis the season to bite necks, after all. But there are rumours that it has been delayed, with the current Scorpion season being extended by a week.
The upcoming survival gameLord of the Rings: Return to Moria has gone gold, meaning it’s very close to the end of its production cycle and almost ready for release. But, to coincide with the setting of the game, the development team Free Range Games has referred to this process as going “mithril.”
Tiles, they’re just pleasing. Plonk ‘em down, line ‘em up, watch pretty patterns emerge and your score multiply. Upcoming PC game Planetiles is about tiles - they’re right there in the name! - and looks to continue the immensely satisfying chill puzzling of Dorfromantik and its ilk.
