Capcom has been hosting a fan survey through Capcom Town that has revealed some of the franchises that fans of the company want to see the most. Capcom has a storied history of releasing high-quality games across a variety of franchises. Capcom constantly has something new and exciting coming out, with the company having just recently launched the critically-acclaimed action-RPG Dragon's Dogma 2.

Berserk Boy is an obvious love letter to a wide swathe of the biggest 2D action games of the '90s, but it's not just a derivative throwback. Every year, like clockwork, I end up playing one retro-style 2D game that gets its hooks in me. Although there have only been two main series Mega Man games in the past 14 years, fans are still, in a way, spoiled for choice.

Capcom has revealed that a new Mega Man-themed Fighting Pass is going live in Street Fighter 6. The fighting game's third DLC fighter, Ed, joined the roster last month, bringing with him balance changes to characters like Jamie, Ryu, Luke, and more. The Psycho-powered fighter was also added to Street Fighter 6's single player World Tour mode, where he can be found in a Metro City subway station at night.

11-year-old game Resident Evil Revelations recently released an update that apparently introduced DRM, only to swiftly roll back the patch after complaints from players that it reportedly caused performance issues. Capcom aren’t giving up that easily on their vow to crack down on mods, though.

More than a decade after Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas debuted in movie theaters, Street Fighter and Mega Man publisher Capcom pulled off something impressive: It made a direct sequel to the movie, with Burton’s blessing.

Netflix has been trying its hardest to make itself one of the “big names” in anime creation and adaptation. You might recall they just released a very successful live-action adaptation of a show featuring some Straw Hat Pirates. Well, not too long after that was released, they announced that they were going to make an anime-style adaptation of one of Capcom’s most famous franchises: Devil May Cry. That’s right, Dante is back, in animated form, and he will be tearing things up like only he can. While this isn’t the first time an animated series with Dante has been done, this one could have legs if it goes well.

Mega Man fans have had a lot to enjoy over the past decade between official things like Mega Man 11 and various collections and Mega Man-likes with 30XX and Mighty Gunvolt Burst, but one game that got slept on was Mega Man X Dive. It was a free to play Mega Man X game with a lot of gacha mechanics, but also rock-solid core gameplay that allowed you to have a lot of “what if” scenarios due to its diverse roster of playable characters and many different stages from various Mega Man X games over the decades.

As I was reorganizing my Mega Man collection after a move — which is a perfectly normal thing for a human being to say — I paused a minute when looking at the Mega Man X series. While the original Blue Bomber made a return to the spotlight in 2018 with Mega Man 11, his edgier successor still hasn’t made a comeback in a mainline game. It’s a shame that Capcom hasn’t figured out how to do that yet, but in the meantime, the 1993 original still holds up.

The shuttering of Mega Man X Dive meant that the long-running international mobile and PC game could seemingly be lost to time alongside so many other free-to-play games over the years. Fortunately, Capcom announced the debut of Mega Man X DIVE Offline earlier this year to keep the game alive and playable for years to come. Having played it on PC, I found DIVE to be an interesting what-if kind of game because of how it was structured. You had stages and missions set throughout the history of the X series, but using a high-fidelity polygonal art style that resembled the one used for Maverick Hunter X on the PSP — only if it was more modern interpretation of that art style.

Mega Man X DiVE Offline will launch for PC via Steam, iOS via App Store, and Android via Google Play on September 1 for $29.99 / 3,990 yen, Capcom announced.

Roguelike platformer 30XX finally had its 1.0 release earlier this week, after two and a half years in early access, and it's one of the best Mega Man experiences you can play that isn't actually from Capcom's iconic series.

Capcom has unleashed a “Mega Man Summer Pack” on Steam, and it’s worth raving about. For $29.82 (normally $134.94) you’re getting a massive chunk of Mega Man, spanning multiple Legacy Collections, Mega Man 11, and the Zero/ZX Legacy Collection. If you were to pick up the recent-ish Battle Network re-releases, you’d have a pretty good collection of many mainline Mega-games.
