Capcom's third-person dinosaur shooter Exoprimal has revealed an upcoming collaboration with Mega Man as part of its Season 4 overview. Released in July 2023, Exoprimal continues to improve the player experience with a constant stream of fresh content.
Since the game was first released, Capcom has used several of its own franchises to crossover with the game. First up was the Street Fighter collaboration for Exoprimal, which saw players able to take control of Ryu, Guile, and Chun-Li, along with several of their iconic moves from the games. After that was the Monster Hunter collaboration, which was released in January and brought similar content from another of Capcom's popular franchises. A Mega Man collaboration seemed like the next natural step, and now, players have been given a glimpse at what they can expect from it.
Capcom revealed the Mega Man collaboration for Exoprimal in its Season 4 Overview video, showing the sort of content the crossover will include. The overview included several Mega Man-themed exosuit skins and emotes, as well as a teased mission that will see players face off against the famous Mega Man boss, Yellow Devil. There are plenty of different suits in Exoprimal for players to collect, but this trailer only shows Mega Man and Air Man so far. No concrete release date was given for the crossover, with only a vague «soon» provided at the moment.
The trailer wasn't all about Mega Man, though, and also provided a full look at what Season 4 will have to offer. New Beta variant exosuits were shown off, alongside new rigs and modules. There are even several new game modes for Exoprimal coming soon. The first is an intense 10-player co-op mode called Time Loop Rebellion. This mode sees players fight the game's endgame Behemoth boss in an even more powerful form and is designed to be played multiple times to earn cosmetics and other rewards. The second mode is Custom Match, which allows players to set up a crossplay lobby across any mode, mission, or stage, with a final Quick Brawl mode coming for players who just want to play the game's final PvP missions.
It's an exciting time to be a fan of Exoprimal, with no lack of content going forward. With several Capcom collaborations already released and Mega Man soon to come, it'll be interesting to see what the developer has planned next for the game. Late last year, it was revealed that Dino Crisis content might be added to Exoprimal, but this has yet to come to fruition. Given the dinosaur link, it makes the most sense of any potential Capcom crossover, so many fans are hopeful that it will happen at some point in 2024.
