Classic Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to ask for feedback regarding upcoming class changes in Season of Discovery. Greenfield, better known as Aggrend, stated that the Season of Discovery team has been hard at work listening and attempting to respond to player feedback, and further feedback on changes would be welcome as the team attempts to adjust balance ahead of Phase 4.

As reported in screenshots on Reddit, Greenfield, better known as Aggrend, had some interesting notes and thoughts to share with the players in a conversation regarding overall balance and Paladin gameplay.

As players continue to clear the 20-player Sunken Temple raid, they've started to notice that they're receiving fewer pieces of loot than in previous Phases. While each boss is dropping more pieces of loot, the increase in player requirement as well as a change to the lockout cadence is leaving players wondering if the development team made a mistake. Players have taken to Reddit, Twitter, and the Official Forums to share their feedback about the Sunken Temple loot situation. One commenter even broke it down and suggested that the Sunken Temple bosses should be dropping up to 10 pieces of loot in order to compensate for the number of players per raid and weekly lockout.

After the Sunken Temple nerfs, some players have expressed disappointment in the lack of challenge provided thus far in Season of Discovery. But was completing difficult content the overall goal of this seasonal experiment? Blizzard has announced class tuning coming on April 16 for Season of Discovery, including moving many Runes to different slots — like Light's Grace from Helms to Bracers! Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield commented on these hotfixes on X, formerly known as Twitter, stating that Blizzard plans to be «a lot more deliberate with changes in this phase to avoid whiplash, where possible».

Players have reported that participation in the Ashenvale PvP event is not rewarding the right amount of reputation for level 50 characters. The quests Repelling Invaders and Clear the Forest! used to be weekly prior to Phase 3, and are now daily quests.

Players have reported that two of the bosses in the new Sunken Temple Level-Up Raid, Dreamscythe and Weaver, are not spawning. This seems to occur when a group clears the raid up to this duo, leaves the instance and then return at a later time.

When Phase 3 of Season of Discovery launched, with it came the new open world events Nightmare Incursions. The gold rewards for completing the associated quests were incredibly lucrative, some players reporting that they made several hundred gold in the first evening of leveling.

Blizzard has implemented a series of changes to the Battle for Ashenvale PvP event, addressing concern from the community regarding reputation not being rewarded. There are also additional changes regarding the bosses and Lieutenants to prevent the event from ending in such a short amount of time.

Yesterday WoW Classic Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield teased that changes were coming to Battle for Ashenvale, and the first wave of adjustments have arrived. Camp Lieutenants have been given a health increase, and are now required to kill before a Faction Leader can be defeated. This change means that big groups of players can no longer rush to the opposite Faction's Leader and burst it down with sheer numbers, but instead actually need to spread out across the zone and defeat the Camp Lieutenants.

I really like the idea of WoW Classic's Season of Discovery (SoD)—it's a genuinely fresh take on what it means to make a classic server. Not just rehashing the old, but remixing it too.

The Ashenvale PvP event has been plagued by being extremely short (sometimes lasting only 15-30 seconds) in addition to not always rewarding players with Reputation for participating. This, among other things, is getting adjusted «very soon» as per a couple of tweets from WoW Classic Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield. The main issue they seem to be targeting is the extremely short events.

A couple Hunter bug fixes are being partially reverted today due to unintended side effects with Attack Power to Spellpower conversion and Aspect of the Lion, however Scorpid Poison will no longer interact with Kill Command in order to reduce the Hunter pet's disproportionate power in WoW Classic Season of Discovery. As explained by Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield, the goal was to reduce the disproportionate power of Scorpid Poison, as well as fix an odd bug allowing Aspect of the Lion to affect players not in the Hunter's party, however the changes had unintended side effects; affecting more abilities than just the major offenders. The only actual adjustment going forward is no longer allowing Scorpid poison to consume Kill Command, meaning the already powerful ability won't be able to benefit from that large damage increase any longer.

Blizzard has responded to community feedback regarding the Metamorphosis Rune acquisition, and Developer Josh Greenfield on Twitter has stated that a change will be coming soon to allow «The Orb of Soran'uk» to be completed outside the raid.

Responding on Twitter today, Senior Game Producer Josh Greenfield acknowledged that the elusive Rune of Metamorphosis is an outlier, pledging to make it easier to obtain in future phases of WoW Classic Season of Discovery.

Blizzard's decision to hide realm information and disallow name reservations until the launch of WoW Classic Season of Discovery has been a controversial one, but did it work? The developers believe so, reporting an average 3.7% delta between Alliance and Horde players, though it may have come at a cost. Senior Game Producers Tom Ellis and Josh Greenfield have been very active on Twitter, providing commentary and answering questions about this unique approach to Season of Discovery. The decision to hide server names and information was previously discussed in detail, outlining the issues with allowing players to «overplan» to the point of unofficially designated «good» and «bad» servers. Interestingly, this obfuscation seemed almost needless, as only launching with a handful of servers heavily restricted that possibility anyway.

Some players that were lucky enough to make it onto realms through queue times have noticed a significant amount of lag.
