Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be a unique entry in the beloved action-adventure franchise by Ubisoft. In previous entries, the scale and scope of the games grew to near-insane levels as there were hundreds of hours of content to seek out and participate in. However, things will be a bit more focused in the new game, which brings things back to the Middle East. In fact, the game will be rooted within one city, Baghdad, and through that, the team at Ubisoft will craft a deep and rewarding experience for those who try to seek out all that’s within this city.

Considering the massive worlds, endless side activities, and propulsive “numbers go up” progression systems of recent Assassin’s Creed games, it can be easy to forget that the series began as a detective game. Assassin’s Creed Mirage seems hell-bent on reminding us.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s Basim is the star of Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the upcoming game that will serve as the latest entry in the franchise. In many ways, Mirage represents a return to an older for the series, as it will borrow many elements from older entries. Assassin’s Creed Mirage takes on average 20-23 hours to complete, Ubisoft has said.

In June, Ubisoft described the map size of Assassin's Creed Mirage as being closer to that of Constantinople in Revelations or Paris in Unity, rather than the sprawling multi-nation maps of more recent Assassin's Creed games. Now, in an interview with French YouTuber Julien Chièze, lead producer Fabian Salomon has said that we'll be able to roll credits on Mirage in 20 to 30 hours (thanks to PCGamesN for the translation).

Assassin’s Creed Mirage is going back to the series’ roots with an emphasis on stealthy stabbing and a leaner historical setting to explore. That smaller world is thankfully reflected in the game’s length, as Mirage will be around five times shorter than the last mammoth entry in the series, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
