Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League got a shot in the arm Thursday with the release of its first season, which notably brings the Joker back to the franchise’s Arkhamverse. Joker is a newly playable character, plucked from an alternate-reality Elseworld, who joins the Suicide Squad on their mission to kill a bunch of alternate-reality Braniacs.

2019's movie has been imagined as an open-world game. Considering the award-winning movie took a different approach to comic book movies, following the likes of and in its story and tone rather than following more classic comic book movie fare like the DC movies that came before it, it's the last movie anyone would expect to be adapted into a game, and yet it looks visually impressive.

James Gunn has offered up an update on the upcoming animated series , revealing that much of the work on the series is done.

's Joker-centric Season 1 content launched on March 28, and with the base game facing an extreme player dropoff in the nearly two-month period since its launch, those who did purchase the game, or stuck with it in that time, hoped the Joker content would breathe some new life into it after its endgame content was criticized for becoming repetitive with just a handful of missions, or the option to replay the story content again. Unfortunately, this doesn't seem to be the case.

Joker’s debut might be the final straw for some players. A multiversal version of Batman's arch-nemesis was added to the looter-shooter title as part of its first season of post-launch content, alongside new levels, weapons, and more.

Long before the Suicide Squad went on to try about killing the Justice League, it dug its own grave. The action-adventure shooter from Rocksteady was born with the burden of living up to the lofty standards set by the studio's beloved Batman: Arkham games. Then, it stepped on a rake when last year's gameplay reveal confirmed that the game would be an always-online, live service looter shooter — a departure from Rocksteady's repertoire of narrative-focussed single-player experiences. And when it finally came out in early access ahead of its February 2 release, the developers had to pull it offline due to a bug that led to full story completion just as players logged in to the game for the first time.

The next phase of Dawn of DC has been announced and, if you've been paying attention to recent developments in the comics then it should come as no surprise who the main antagonist is: Amanda Waller.

Upon first impressions, I argued that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is a monotonous, uninspired ordeal. The introduction to Metropolis drags along, only to feel worse thanks to messy presentation and unintuitive mechanics, though I admit the latter may be a product of my own faults. Those early thoughts still stand, as Kill the Justice League doesn’t offer an enticing first few hours. Eventually, some of those pieces improve. Others, not so much.

Although 's story is a continuation of Rocksteady's Arkhamverse, several plot points open the door to an extended DC Multiverse. The main campaign follows A.R.G.U.S. and Task Force X as they are deployed into Metropolis in the midst of an alien invasion led by Brainiac. In this time, Brainiac has captured and brainwashed 99% of Metropolis' citizens, including the majority of the Justice League, creating plenty of additional enemies for Task Force X to overcome on their mission to stop Brainiac's plans to terraform Earth and to create a New Colu.

Casting for James Gunn’s Superman: Legacy is on the move! While Clark Kent and Lois Lane actors David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan were confirmed in June, the past week alone has seen casting news for the Daily Planet’s Jimmy Olsen, Lex Corp’s Eve Teschmacher, a villainous version of the superhero the Engineer, and, of course, Lex Luthor himself.
